Default The go to SERVO thread!

Just thought it would be a good idea to try and eliminate the countless number of servo threads by creating a servo directory.

This is what I'm going for. Please post the servo name, model and experiences that include application(In what vehicle), how long you have been running it for, what problems if any, and some comments on the performance... I will update the info to this post at least one time a week. And want to try and get this on the sticky list!

Any feedback is welcome! I'm all in for great ideas, or changes to the layouts. I will add some info to get it started. Now lets get posting!

I did install a Spektrum Capacitor on my Rx, didn't have any issues pre-cap though. I did have to dremel my servo mount on my Losi JRXSR to make room for the wires but no big deal.

List updated.
Spunky: can I get a rundown of your Hitec please

Murray: At RCX I talked to the Savox rep about Orion re-badging, he said that Savox sells the servo to Spektrum as well as a few others. I have heard this a lot on rctech as well. If I am wrong (I am a lot lol so don't take this as an insult but just a discussion) please get me a source. I want this list to be as accurate as possible. THANKS YEAL!

I had also read about Spektrum being a rebadged Savox and that is why I asked Spektrum when I called them. I do not have the name of the rep I talked to but called the number on the Spektrum website. Definitely no insult taken........I am new but have been researching servos for the last several days. Thanks for setting up this thread. Wished it was completed several days ago.

Thanks RC8!

Murray: I'll probably wind up calling both companies and get definite answers. Two diff answers from service reps on the same subject lol. Just funny how the specs line up identical and they are similar looking. We shall see! Once again not trying to insult.

this thread is a great idea. a suggestion i have would be to either include retail pricing and/or links to the servos on amain. that way if someone needs info about servos they can come to this thread and see it all laid out for them rather than having to search through all of them online.

i won't have my servos for a couple weeks and who knows when i will have everything to actually run my SCRT10 cuz i'm building it from scratch, but once i do i will definitely update about it.

Thanks for the input! I will add the links tomorrow! I'm sure you'll love them I run them in multiple applications and I sure do.

NTR: Thank you for the specs! I have heard great things but have never seen them in person. I would like to give them a shot. I hear they are worth every penny.

Savox 1251
Used this in 10th scale 2wd and 4wd and in a pinch, my SC. Just like the Futaba 9550, same specs, half the cost, same performance. HAs never let me down. Only down fall is the mile long servo lead.
Savox 1257
great throttle servo in an 8th scale, have also used in 10th scale for steering. ULTRA fast.
Savox 1258
By far the most versitile. Am using this as a throttle servo in my truggy, Steering in my E-Buggy. Works great in ANY setting. Plenty fast, and i believe under rated on the torque. HAve yet to see one fail.
Savox 1267
I use this for steering on my truggy and my nitro buggy with a LiFe pack. Perfect specs for both, plenty fast, great torque. Never had any problems.

The ONLY downfall I have seen with these servos-the MILE long servo leads. Also the labels seem to come off very easily.

- no problem so far...

7954sh steering and 1258tg throttle on my savage ss

- the 1258 goes on failsafe(brake) intermittently...and locks for a few seconds..but the steering still works...don't know what the problem is... if it's the rx battery it should return to center...if it's the tx..then should not be able to control the steering...
