Default Spektrum S6070 (Savox)

I've been using the S6070 low profile digital servo in my Touring Car (JRXSR) and absolutely love it. Extremely fast, turned down the servo speed a bit actually. Plenty of torque for a TC. Noisy buy I like that, lets me know my car is on The servo wires are very long which will give you a lot of options for Rx mounting. I did install a Spektrum Capacitor on my Rx, didn't have any issues pre-cap though.

I did have to dremel my servo mount on my Losi JRXSR to make room for the wires but no big deal.

Have a Spektrum S6040 coming in today. Should be even better

Default Savox 1257TG

Paid $59.99 to Savox for this servo on trade-in special. Installed as steering servo in B44. Owned for 3 months. Added significantly to the speed and feel of steering response. Almost feels telepathic. Used with a Futaba 603FF receiver and LRP Sphere Competition ESC. Only problem I have with this servo is it has a very long lead wire which is troublesome for more compact installs.

138 oz.-in of torque
0.07 sec/60 degrees transit time
Orange Anodized Aluminum case middle section
Titanium geartrain and metal output
digital
coreless motor

Owned for 5 years, at least. Has been used in three cars; 1 TC, and 2 2wd buggies. This servo is strong, quiet and very durable. One of my favorites. Absolutely no drawbacks. Ideal for TC, 1/10 buggy, 1/10 truck.

127.8 oz.-in. Torque at 6.0V
0.11 sec per 60-degrees Transit time
Metal geartrain and output
plastic case
Digital
coreless motor

Wow the list is growing! About to work on the links right now! Thank you to everyone who has provided input. Sticky list soon hopefully!

crusey_aus: thanks for the input! I do realize their are servo lists around but I want to create one that right here at rctech for everyone to use as a reference sheet for their applications. Including honest un-bias reviews of the products

Just installed and ran my new Spektrum 6040. Running a stock sc10 esc and no issues. Super improvement over stock servo. Never thought a high speed servo could make that much of a difference.

Why don't you take all this info and put it in a spreadsheet so its searchable?

Just a thought - if you do, you should include spline count for the servo as well - see a lot of ques about what fits what servo.....

List is up to date!

Thanks for all the reviews!!!! STICKY STICKY STICKY!

Murray: Amazing the difference in response time right? When I was younger I couldn't run fast servos. Now I can't run slow servos! Anything over .09 for me is slow now .

Good idea about the spreadsheet too, I will take that into consideration when a large enough list is established. For now i think the scroll through list is easy enough for the basic user.

This servo came highly recommended by our LHS as the particular Savox servo was out of stock. So I bought 2 of them to try at RM120.00 each

After installing into my Agama Evo A8, the servo was Flawless with no glitching. However after 15 minutes of normal usage, the throttle servo toasted. (Just driving on tarmac surface with Correct EPA settings)

Contacted the MKS representative in Taiwan thru Facebook and he mentioned that the cause of the servo FET burnt was due to an Over-Voltage supply from my 6.0V NiMH 1500mah Receiver pack batteries...

What do you think guys???

Anyway the other steering servo only lasted another 2 more months before it completely KO-ed also.

TBO, I was rather dissappointed with the way MKS handle my case and I hate to say this... There isn't any Warranty provided except for a Trade In Program.

Hey all,

I have a faulty steering servo. traxxas 2055 6.0V 6.2kg/cm

It doesn't work when I first turn on the TX/RX but after 5 - 15min it comes to life and works normally until I turn it off again. This jump to life seems to happen by itself, without any jiggling or TX input so I'm wondering if servos have an internal electronic breaker or cut-out for overheating or something?

My diagnostic testing shows it's a servo fault not the receiver or transmitter.

Thanks
