Well Christmas is almost here and the only new mention of this series servo is that ServoCity now list it as coming soon, no details. Still nothing on the Hitec site other than the announcement.

My guess would be CC dropped the ball and Hitec was forced to go to a Different supplier for their motors.

I use to run Savox 1268 (steering) and 1267 (throttle) HV servos direct to Lipo and was pretty happy with them. Sold them and now I'm getting back into nitro 1/8th off-road.

Would like to try some Hitec's. Which would you recommend that would do an equivalent job (if not better) than the Savox I was running?

Thanks in advance.

I have been buying the Hitec servos, 7940th 7950th 7954Sh 7955tg 7945th 7980th all of them are still perfect, and I have run some of them on 7.4V using a castle BEC & Link with a y-harness. very good servos. I see Hitec has waterproof ones, I didn't know that until a couple days ago. fairly priced too.

Straight from the horses mouth:
Hello Dan,

We are finalizing all of the details with that line of servos (HSB-7960/70/80) as speak. They should be out later this year (2012).

Thank you,

Don't hold your breath. I called Hitec August last year and they told me they would be out September-October 2011.

I have been running two 7950s for 3 years now and two 7940s on throttle duties almost as long in my 1/8 cars. I also have three more 7940s on steering for my 1/10 vehicles. I've had zero failures! If people are having problems with these failing, it is operator error in 99% of the cases. I've tried a lot of servos over the years and these are hands down my favorites. Looking forward to the new lineup; I dont need the lower power requirements for anything but it would be cool to run a significantly smaller receiver battery in 1/8 so I have the freedom to place that weight in another location if need be.

I saw Billy running these at AMS 3.0 and both Truggy and Buggy look to steer better than anyone out there. He told me a couple months. But I also did not relize they put the word out 1.5 years ago!?!?! I will purchase FOR SURE when they get here
