Anyone have an idea on pricing for these? I'm thinking $170-200 MSRP.

Hope there is a typo and they ment .07 seconds instead of .7 If not that's going to be one very slow servo. ;)

Looks like a typo on the 9380 as is should be .13 sec. The specs are essentially the same as the 7940/45/50 but sip power and do not slow down as they are heavily loaded. Playing with the sample I got last week, I would hang 10lbs of weight on the highest speed version and it drew only .23A... the similar 7940 was 2.5A. Even when stalling the servos (can handle this indefinitely BTW!) it was only 1A. The servos are also dead silent and the programmability goes way beyond what we have now. You can modify torque zones so that on a throttle for example, you can set the end's so they draw almost no current when reaching a hard stop. Of course there are basic and advanced programmable options and if you get too far out of whack you can just reset to default or a previous configuration from a saved file. Also, each servo can be named and the history of it's usage is logged. So if someone sends a servo in and says it's new, we'll know if it really is!

FYI: These are nothing like the current competitors brushless servos, the motor and circuit have been several years in the making. The performance of the servo does not change above 7.5v so it will stay the same through the discharge of the battery. It also has a regenerative circuit which actually charges the battery when decelerating much like the high end ESC's for R/C cars therefor you'll be able to use much smaller batteries and still have plenty of run time. This is a huge advancement in servo technology as never before have we had so much power with so little current draw; it's like your corvette now gets 50MPG!!!

We just got our pre-production units for field testing but production is not until May/June for July delivery so they are still a little ways away. We will announce and show them for the first time in the USA market in Toledo, and have a pretty cool display using the Aurora's telemetry to monitor the current draw and temps under extreme loads. I'll also be giving seminars each day on servos again this year.

From talkin with Hitec CS they will be shipping around July. MSRP of $179. Basically their torque spec rating is HOLDING power and not the stall point. I myself am looking forward to them and will pick a few up, but will not be replacing any of the Hitec HV units I have since even these are overkill in terms of both holding torque(about 50% HIGHER than rated spec)and the actual stall rating(given spec). Hitec's 7954 HV servo for about $80 online shipped is still the best value per dollar for a ultra high end servo with over 400oz. of torque at stall(600oz holding power)and a fast transit speed of .12 at 7.4 volts. :nod:

WHat the new brushless servos will have though for advantage is speed UNDER LOAD(The speed spec given is at FULL load instead of no load), lower current draw,and they will be quieter(and no brushes to wear out, even though it will take quite a few years to wear out Hitec's own coreless motors ;) )overall. You just have to figure out if any of this is needed vs. Hitec's current HV offerings for the extra cost added.
