Ahhh !!!!! wrong polarity.
Just got some new batteries, they have the polarity of there tubes on opposite sides to the battery I was using. I didn't notice when I went to hook my speedy up. Sparked so I instanly pulled it away. I hooked up my original battery but the capacitors smoked up big time. Please Please tell me I've only fried the capacitors and not the speedy.

any prelim info on specs for the new 1/8 in the works? Will this be smaller, etc? I am liking the SAV2 so far, possibly get some race testing on it this weekend and hope to have a better showing than the SAV1 did.

for my 1/8s before going back to speed passion I was using the small castle MMP with great success in buggy at least.
The SAV2 just barely fits on a TEKNO converted D8 and will be a tight fit on the new Tekno buggy I believe. I agree though one that doesn't blow up would be great for sure LOL. Has any thought been put into maybe making the ESC taller via heat sinks, etc? Reason I ask is that the footprint is pretty big, but I have room to go taller, especially with bodies now that are made in regards to cars that need the ESC higher than the batteries (ie- saddle designs). Part of the effective size of the SAV2 considered is the location of the wires as well coming out of the ESC for the receiver and power switch. If the new one has these as plug and play like the GT2.0, that would help A LOT. one other thing that I know I thought could be cool to have, a plug and play external BEC setup. Will your next ESC be capable of handling 1/5 electric duties to some degree like the MMM can in the new HPI Super 5SC Flux on 6S? |

I think, we will have a new ESC for the 1/5th size...however, we also need to see where is the market for 1/5th....it does not seem big enough. |
Cool, even if you are pulling my leg hell that still sounds cool LOL.
for true 1/5, will be interesting to see. There are those out there willing to buy, heck, it was big enough that HPI made that 5B Flux (the 5SC Flux since its savage based doesn't need as much ESC at least, or, so it seems). For that level datalogging, etc with a truely robust BEC or maybe an option to plug in an external BEC that is extremely robust would be great. heck, I would love to see a modular kind of design to an ESC if it was possible so you could configure it as needed for your conditions. whatever happened with that 1/5 motor you guys had? Is that still around or is it discontinued? |
