I have tried to understand the timing theory to see if it was my ignorance that is the factor, but my other companies speedo's seem to do what this can't. One thing I have noticed though; endbell timing on the viper motors have more impact than the speedo timing. I am hoping that with a 9.5 in a 2wd buggy it will be enough, cause it is coming out of my sct.
Their is definitly something you are doing wrong, or a faulty motor then. At the JConcepts race back in February, a 0 timing event, my stock 2wd buggy with a 17.5 and VTX was pulling other stock motors down the straight.

Not calling you out by any means, I just know that something cant be right if its not getting any faster. I have a few guys local that I have setup with 17.5's and speedos and timing, and they are ballistic!

I'm leaning on a possible motor problem. It was slower than mine even while using an rs. I love the power my combo makes, but he's never had the same results, even with the same setups.

they are probably gearing wrong.

Gearing makes more an impact on top speed then timing dose.

Keep in mind guys, these motors are torque based... you ahve to gear OUT of the torque range if you want any top end. On my RB5, i was running 34/72 and still had room to go....

I just received my VTX10R. In the instruction, it mentions beep tones. I went through the whole setup and I didn't hear a single tone. Is it normal?

Did you have everything wired up? I know it wont play the beeps if you dont have ALL of the wiring done.

BTW, does anyone know of a thermal adhesive pad that is strong enough to use to mount the ESC on aluminum chassis? It would be nice to make use of the alu ESC case, to conduct ans sink some of heat through the chassis. Regular servo tape is very good insulator. Normal thermal tape is not strong enough. I don't want to use thermal epoxy.
