I got to see Chase Armstrong's non-boosted viper 17.5 run outdoors yesterday and that thing is STUPID fast.

You don't gear this motor the same as others. It's a very torquey motors, so gear up and you will see it

Just preordered a VTXR. I plan to use it on my DESC410R with a T**** 4.5 550. I hope this esc can handle a 550 in a 4wd SC without thermalling after 5 minutes like my RSP. The motor temped at 125. The RSP worked flawlessly with a 4.5 on a Hyper TT but not so well with a 4x4 SC. I need a better alternative than my MMP that I'm using now.

Billy Fischer ran 4x4 SCT at the Cactus Classic (100+* track temps) with a VTX10R and VST 4.5XL 550 motor geared with a 12t pinion. The temps equipment temps were never an issue even without fans in the highest level competition. It should work great for you :tire:

Thanks. I hope the esc's arrive ahead of the April 21st ETA cuz I'm not liking the bulky MMP in the tight confines of the DESC410R.

Not yet, they're coming as fast as possible but are still several weeks out. It takes time to bring a new product to the market. Please be patient. Thanks!

Viper had a good showing this weekend in oval at the rc race barn in Jeff city , MO. Turnout was lite but the competition was tough. All three viper drivers kept swapping the fastest times of the day in mod sprint. Two of us had a great race in Late model as well, everything ran smooth and had plenty of power.

I must say that the speed control I borrowed is not nearly as smooth as my viper. :D

Can you give a starting fdr for sc with the 17.5 then?? Indoor 70' straight, med to high traction, and outdoor 100' straight low traction. Currently running on RS Pro speedo, allowed to run boost. Seriously thinking about getting a VTX10 to try.

Any info on the 550's? Turns and kv's that will be available?

What truck Tril? I am sorry, dont know the FDR's for the trucks... just basic gearing...

The VTX10 is a very competitive speedo. I LOVE mine and i switched from Tekin. Can pre-order here:

Nick-did ok. The 8th scale motor I was running is an indoor motor... and it worked ok for outside, but... i need a hair bigger if i want to keep up. Cars were both great though.

Still debating on what we talked about.... just a lot of money tied up in wat I already have.

Initially we will offer 4.5XL (4100kv) and 5.5XL (3500kv) turn options. Possibly more options available in the future :)

Congratulations to Team Viper driver Sergio Rodriguez for his A-main 10th place finish in the 2wd modified class at the 2011 Spanish Offroad Nationals! Sergio ran a VTX10 and VST 7.5 combo. More Viper drivers continue to lay it down at the highest level :)
