Yeah, that or higher throttle frequency, or both.

Is it just the initial punch you are having trouble with or just the speed in general? You could always just dial back the throttle travel in transmitter.

Are you running spektrum dx3r pro by chance? They have "traction control" which allows you to put the equivalent of a dampner on the initial travel of throttle.

you could also just turn the punch down to smooth it out as well

Hey all, just got my Copperhead system and about ready to do the install in my Slash 4x4. Is just using double sided tape the way to go in mounting the ESC?
I haven't seen other options......just thought I'd check. Thanks :D

Yep, I use the red wrapped outdoor kind from Walmart.

Ok cool..... thanks for the quick response.

No running Futaba radio 4pl. What does the higher frequency do for the throttle?

micrors4guy 01-12-2015 10:35 AM

The change you will want to make will be to the Punch setting when running mod 2wd i normally find myself in the 60-75% range. In 8th scale im in the 70-85% range.

For the throttle frequency it will make the whole power band feel smoother.

if anyone here has any experience using the Proguage to diagnose a servo please let me know. Looking for any tips in regards to that. Thanks!

Big Congratulations and Shout out to Viper drivers at CRCRC Midwest Champs.

Travis Amezcua with podium finishes in both 2wd and 4wd Mod Buggy.

JP Richards in 2wd, 4wd and 2wd SC Modified A Mains. After qualifying in top 5 in both 2wd Mod and 4wd Mod.

Two awesome things about Travis 4wd podium - he had awesome first round of qualifying and bad luck after that. Qualified 14th overall. Won the B Main to make the big show - then in 3 A mains against fast, factory drivers, made his way to top 3 every A main, to take 3rd overall.

Second awesome thing - he thought he was having an issue with a motor. Borrowed on from a fellow Viper team driver - to win the B and finish on the podium. He was actually on pace to TQ last round of qualifying when he broke a rear arm also. Thanks to Dave McEwen for helping out!!

Great race debut for the Black Edition motor -- both JP and Travis had opportunities to lead A mains, and lead rounds of qualifying.

Just wanted to say viper just cost me $150 if motor cutoff function does not work properly take it out of the esc. I was getting motor shutdown codes all day at last race but motor was at 108. Finally Reading through pages on here while I should be racing. I found out the answer but that was after i dropped $150 on a new motor.I have been a viper fan but this didnt sit well with me this time.

I know the esc reads internal motor temps. I for one have never used any motor temp options on any esc I have ever owned. I trust my gearing more than something that can cut out. Not to mention some motors perform a little better at the hotter temps

Same thing goes for a lipo cutoff. I run for 12 mins max then pull off.

I am assuming at the price you are saying this was a 1/8 motor?

Jmfknpizzle 01-12-2015 07:28 PM

4wd sct viper 4.5xl/vtx8 combo apparently the power it pulls spikes the esc into thinking the motor is over heating about 4 mins into the race.I bought a 4600 pro4 tekin to replace it
