right now working with viper on an RMA for a couple of products, so far communication has been great. I hope to see my items back soon.

I have had an issue with a motor failing during a huge race. I was furious but Nick was a champ and got me taken care of. I would be one of the loudest kittens if I didn't get my milk. Great company, great service.

Yep, Nick is a pretty good guy.

Many thanks to all! micrors4guy mtpocketsracing synap2012 :) i'll follow your advice, I do hope the team at Viper's will help better than my first mail... :o
I attach a pic of the crack, it goes around the can but the rear still holds somehow
I'm still looking for info/experience on that failure:confused:

That is where the 2 parts of the cam are pressed together.

do you see any marks on the chassis from the motor? wonder if you had enough chassis flex to bump the can.

Viper VF8.27 broken can

The chassis looks fine, just a small scratch (it's new, easy to spot), so it could have touched the can, it looks possible. Yet, it's quite a light scratch... The can would have popped just like that, on a contact with the chassis?!! It could also come from the rotor load combined with an initial weakness at the joint of the can's two parts... There must have been a weakness, otherwise I find it incredible, anyway :weird:. We have two rather big jumps, but I never had any problem of that kind so far, even though my previous motors where of a different design (Dynamite, Castle) you can also find in bashers stuff.
Have you ever had that kind of problem?

If the chassis is hard anodized it will be harder to scratch. All it takes is the right hit at the right angle. It can happen and the viper rma should get you taken care of.

I have seen it happen on a different brand of motor in the past from chassis flex. I have personally not had it happen, knock on wood!

Rumbler -- you can send the unit in for warranty service - the criteria is straight forward -- original owner, within the warranty period (verified by receipt, no physical damage or damage from operation. If the failure was through our mfg process -- we replace it via warranty.

Different motors will have different areas of stress. Seen bent rotor shafts, sensor units bent, bearing broken - depends on the load begin put on the motor and its design. These trucks weigh 7-8 pounds - going 20-25 mph at times, so the forces are pretty big. We'll gladly take a look at it, as with any company there are things we are looking for to see what happen.
