caps are required for the system to work, so if they blew thats why it doesn't work. yes, send it in through the RMA process, but also include what you were using for set ups in the speed control - what gearing, motor and battery were you using.

You have to check with Tekin for their speed control requirements for those particular motors, they have a different specification for speed controls than standard 2 pole motors, by their design. Not to do with ours.

Could you please explain what that means?

It's apparent to me that this speed control cannot handle a PRO4 Tekin motor.

It was my understanding that only tekin speedys will run there motors.

It was never designed to.....

you have to check with the items you purchased to see what they are and are not compatible with. the other mfg in question designed a 1/10 size motor that requires a 1/8 size speed control (my understanding from their specs).

Just like your signature suggests; you use the RX8 (a 1/8 esc) to run a pro4. You wouldn't use an RS or even RS Pro, so why would you think a vtx or vtxr would do the job?

Your sig:

DESC410R Tekin PRO4 4000, Tekin RX8
TEN-SCTE Teking PRO4 4000 Tekin RX8

Because it was stated that it was made to run the 550 can Viper motors. Where does the Tekin RS or RS pro say that? Tekin expressly states the RS and RS Pro are NOT MADE to run 550 can motors. Viper encourages it. That is why I tried it.

Reading comprehension plus having understanding of said equipment and how they are marketed are fundamental to successfully keep yourself from looking like an ass.

Is the pro4 a 550 motor?

From the tekin site http://www.teamtekin.com/Pro4.html:

"Designed to be paired with the RX8 Electronic Speed Control"

Guys, if you have questions or comments about another mfg products please use their thread or contact their service.

Viper has only and will only recommend that the VTX10R run on 540 and 550 2-pole motors. We have a 4 pole unsensored system - Copperhead as an alternative if others like.

Check out the Facebook page for preview of VLink. It's going live this weekend. I will try and post pics tonight when I get home.

With the VLink the newest version of firmware for VTX series will be released as well. a55 is a big step forward with improvements across the board with the software. Any Viper customer who wants to upgrade simply needs the PCLink cable and the new VLink software. The new firmware is included with the free (that's right free) software of the VLink.

More details to come, I will let you know when they have it fully loaded on the website.

Sounds like its getting hot down under. ;)

Hot Rod Shootout update:

Travis is in the Top 10 of 2wd Modified, 4wd Modified, and Pro4 Modified - after 2 rounds.

He is 3rd in 4wd buggy, very competitive times compared to Jorg, Maified, and Tebo - only 2 seconds covers the top 4. In 2wd Modified - 10 seconds covers the top 20 drivers - thats awesome close!!

Waiting to find out what other west coast drivers are at the race (still don't remember everyone's name from the west coast).

nikos2002 07-21-2012 10:45 AM

Travis finished 2nd overall in 4wd Modified Round 3, but turns the fastest lap of the race --- and the weekend!!!!
