Thanks everyone for the help:) bit disappointed as my first sensor esc/motor will give viper a try one more time

Yeah just send it in. I had the same problem as you, all wires connected properly and the F/R lights registering but no power to the motor. I sent mine in and they shipped a new one to me pretty quickly after they determined my motor was no good. The replacement worked first time I put it in and I've been happy ever since.

For you Viper guys....this system is the real deal. Just got it installed and ran a few packs. Scary fast, and power is very smooth.
At the pricepoint I can't imagine needing anything else.
Running R45 geared 14t, w/Copperhead R esc. Losi SCTE

Sweet, glad your up and running the system. I have a question for the Short Course guys, what is the most important features when running a ESC. For example i heard drag brake is important adjustment feature that you guys use. Is there any other things that you need to adjust when 2WD and 4WD short course? Thanks in advance for any input you guys can give me

I have never used drag brake on any of my cars. It's nice to know the feature is available but I have never used it.

My favorite has to be the throttle curves. Helps with getting the most power to the track depending on the surface you're running on.

Drag brake on 2wd is used quite often. However 4wd it is not...mainly due to the natural drag the 4 pole motors have.

I don't really have a "most important" setting. I like having lipo cutoff and ability to set value

Only few Team Viper drivers have the prototype units. I believe there is only 5out there and being tested. So far no problems means green light on the production :batman:

What are the VST-Black motors, havent heard anything about them may have missed it and has anyone heard any news about the v-link software.

rider313 12-09-2011 10:29 PM

Oohhwee or Mr Cool, which ever one of you was having the VST combo problem. Even tho I believe you two are the same guy.

I figured out your problem. Same thing happened to me tonight at the track. No motor with flashing red and orange lights, while steering works. The button responses on the speedo did nothing.

Then I realized it was stuck in setup mode. I must have unplugged it before i saved the profile. So to fix it you need to change the setup manually without the pro-gauge. To do this turn in your radio, with the speedo off press the power button for three seconds. Then remember what profile your were last on and pick a new one and press the button that many times. IE: I was stuck on profile one, so after pressing the power button for three seconds I pressed the button twice to get it to profile 2. Then everything worked. So I relinked the pro-gauge and reworked profile one and saved it correctly.

But you already sent it back so shoot.

I call the speed controle itself a "speedo" for short. Yeah it threw me for a head scratched for about 10 min till I busted out the manual and figured out the issue.
