Josh didn't use one at IIC with his 4.5 (I think he ran 3.5 in a qualifier, at least he was talking about it).

Eric did run a fan on his car with 17.5, but just the motor, not the speedo. We might need to look into set up silvalis to see if we can help keep the temps down, or at least controllable.

My apologies, I owe someone Josh's TC speedo set up, I thought they posted it on the site, but they did not. I have to get it from him and I will post it when I have it.

Chris i would suggest a d3.5 for 10.5 OVER THE REEDY motor . and as for speedo's getting hot can you give some more info like track size motor air temp gearing are you running alot of boost and turbo ? josh's speedo in both sedan and 1/12 were warm but no where near thermaling and my stuff was not even warm

also settings in speedo what was cutoff for speedo temp set at ?

If you run the right esc parameters and the right gearing, both the esc and the motor shouldn't need a fan. What i always do is leave a conservative blinky setup on the speedo and gear the motor until both motor and speedo are the same temp, lets say 115* then i play with gearing to get maximum speed. Usually the difference from motor to esc should be 20-30 degrees hotter on the motor. It takes some time to tune modified motors so you have to test and keep track of temps.

Also take traction into consideration. More or less traction can both heat up the motor.

sorry but I used to have the D3 and it kept eating sensor boards. No support for trinity in the UK either so getting replacements is a bitch.

NOT SOLVED!

Had a practice night yesterday and the throttle "glitched" on me two times with the new settings... I ran in "Practice" mode (i.e. with reverse enabled) and I'm starting to suspect the glitching has something to do with that mode (or the reverse I should say). Changed to "Race open" mode and I did not get any more glitch that evening. The problem is really intermittent but the only pattern I see is that the glitch is coming directly after I have giving brake but I'm not 100% sure of it.

As I said before I'm running the A30 firmare (came with the ESC). I don't want to spend another $25 + shipping on a computer cable just to try the A55 firmware as someone suggested. If this was a confirmed bug than yes, I would definitely upgrade, but now I'm not even sure if the ESC is a keeper. Can't afford to have an unreliable ESC when racing...

Macke, PM me all the settings from the esc, what kind of radio and servo you are using. So I can take a look at it and even try and replicate it. Something has be to causing it, it's not a widespread issue with out product set, so we have to look at all the info to see why it's happening. We don't want you to think its "unreliable", it's not a problem we are seeing elsewhere.

Looking at switching from a Tekin rs pro to viper. I run mostly 1/10 2wd offroad buggy 17.5 blinky but like to run a 7.5 every so often. Am I going to be leaning toward the VTX1 or the VTX10R. Smyka told me the 1 is single circuit board and the 10R is dual but what are the differences.

All I know is the VTX1 doesn't require a booster/receiver pack. Great for one cell use without the extra battery/booster. Works with 2 cell as well.

Default viper combo

Hi Viper,

I really thought the viper esc/motor/pro gauge combo is a good deal.

But...

VTX10R sensored brushless racing system with VST2.5
VTX10R sensored brushless racing system with VST3.5

2.5T and 3.5T on 2S VTX10R ?

Wouldn't it be great to have a combo for VTX1 for 1S ? especially for 3.5T & 4.5T on 1/12.

Seriously, I dunno how you can run a 2.5T on 2S. :P
