Hi guys,
I have a new xtreme stock esc, with a new lrp x20 17.5t motor. Setup is 'out of the box' with forward, brake, reverse setting for practice. After a few minutes running the esc led blinks red/green, and power is reduced. overheat protection is my guess. But the esc and motor are not hot, just a bit warm, i can touch them without any problem. So the cant be 80 degrees celcius... Is it the combination with the lrp motor that the sensors are wrong? Can i run with heat protection off, as stated in the manual? Will that not be very risky? Regards, Rob Edit: Fdr is 5.72 55 spur 25 pinion. Car is 3racing m-chassis conversion tt01. if i turn the esc off, and on again, it runs fine for about 1 lap again. so it may 'lose' the sensors after a few minutes?? sensor cable is also new. regards, Rob |
From my experience, it's the thermal protection. I disabled mine and it stopped cutting out.

i cant find in the manual if both the esc and motor will have no heat protection when i disable it. my guess would be that disabling heat protection only disables the motor protection, am i guessing right? regards, Rob |

My issue was a faulty sensor board on the motor.
I had the exact same issue. Motor would be fine at the start and after 3-4 minutes, the motor would cog and the ESC would blinky yellow/greenish colors. Once I replaced the sensor board and sensor wire, everything was ok! |

Check the setting for the cutoff voltage. As a test turn it off.

Your going to RC paradice then??
Michel knows a lot and if you have another motor, take it with you and try it. Then you know for sure if it is the esc or motor. Regards Roy PS never had a faulty HW esc since i used them

RC paradice and the border online are the same.
They are open after 12 from what i know. Get in touch with them on FB and ask so you know for sure. You can test your car with esc on there track. Regards Roy |
Hi Guys,
I have a xerun 120A 1S SD V2.1 running blinky V3 508 no timing in my 12th all running ok. However I also have an older xerun 120A V2 (not sure as I have lost the box when moving house) in my TC running stock. Where I run they are now going to run blinky in all classes. When I try to put it into 508 (blinky) I get the error message V.30 110323 stock can not be updated to the version (V3 508 no timing). I also get the same message when I try V1 508, any ideas? Regards Bob. |
Turn your boost and timing to 0. The ESC is now in blinky mode, no matter what firmware you've got on it. It'll also blink just like normal.
I just always ran the Stock firmware and turned boost/turbo to 0. |
Hi,
I have the new hobbywing quicrun sensored esc........when I rev the motor,it has a step in the power,ie its not linear....this happens at both the lowest punch setting and the max punch setting..also no timing...any ideas?.....the motor is a 17.5T speed passion... |
