Just an update for those with V3 HW ESC's they have been tested and will be posted on the ROAR Approved ESC List within the week. For non-timing or "blinky" operation

What firmware version was submitted/approved?

What's the difference between the C-XERUN and the XERUN found on hobbypartz.com? My SCTE's RX8 has taken a dump again (1,2,6,7 led)... I loved my Orion r10 pro and Xerun 1s v2.1 in my SCTE but always went back to the RX8 because I'm already invested.

2-3s, 120amp, ?

1-2s, 120amp, ?

Any real-world help/suggestions would be helpful!

For the ones who are not aware and are still questioning hobbywing's ability to be a front runner in esc technology well remember this small info .The past world titles it has been hobbywing oem's that have won the titles even the latest win by orion .These esc's are 100% designed by michael Lui ,Head engineer and part owner of hobbywing tech co ltd .Hardware and software is researched and designed by michael no one else .

Yes, great result at the 2012 Ifmar 1:10 Electric Touring ;)

1st - Jilles Groskamp - ORION Vortex R1 (Hobbywing OME)

2nd - Hatsushi Hara - V3 Hobbywing

8th - Andy moore - V3 Hobbywing

Excellent job of Michael :)

Sweet I was waiting for the 1s to fall under 100.

If your not going to be running 1s get the 2s-3s model. The 2s-3s has a higher amp output for the bec.

I have a quick question. Does the Xerun 120a v2.1 or the V3 come with the programming card when purchased? Or the programming card is sold separately?

Thanks for the answer in advance.

Quick question thst I cant seem to find a definite answer for here.

Does the v3 come with the newest firmware installed or do you have to do it when you get it? Or in other words, is there a newer firmware than the one in the V3 out?

The V3 sure is looking great. Have tons of ezruns for my outdoor rides and only one have ever failed, but have been an LRP ssx man for my competition use. I love the greater programmability with the V3, and the possibility of constant development of the firmware. The hobbywing people really seem to have the service and development procedures figured out. My choice is this or the Orion that I know is more or less similar. Like the black csse on th HW better though :-D

Brod,

Almost similar, only difference are the input voltage 1s being 1-2 cell with lower BEC amp output and the other one can take 2-3 cell with a much higher BEC output,if you are not going to use more than 2 cell lipo then 1s is ok ,check your servo rating if the BEC can provide the needed power, else you can get an external BEC/ glitch. Buster to eliminate some glitch issue from HV Servos.

If you buy it as a combo with motor yes you will get the program card if not you will not get a program card and will have to purchase it seperately

Hi Angelo..

I pm'd you my gmail address, can you please send me the 1.64 USB Link software for my Xerun.
I need it asap as I am racing this weekend.

I don't want to install the V3.0 (which is the only one available for download from Hobbywing) and screw it up.

Thanks.
