Default 518 software!!

To Hobbywing:

What are the differences between the new 518 stock software and the "old" 422 software? I did see it said to fix some bugs - can you please expand on that if possible

For anyone interested: http://www.hobbywing.com/english/downloads.asp

Thanks very much

Try if the supercharger works with DRRS less than 6. My transmitter battery is flat right now so can't test (Darn VRC hooking me up).

The new firmware for ESC and LCD program box is released:
http://www.hobbywing.com/upload/soft....62_100520.rar

What is new in this firmwares package:

1) 100518Stock Firmware for supercharged stocking
It is an improving version of 100422Stock firmware for XERUN-120A and XERUN-60A ESC (V2.0 or V2.1)

2) V1_0508_No Timing Firmware
It is suitable for XERUN-120A and XERUN-60A ESC (V2.0 or V2.1). It disables all timing functions. All the timing setting are NOT changable, they are permanently set to zero by Hobbywing. And the red LED blinks when in neutral. This firmware is compliant with ROAR 2010 rulers about the Sportman group ESC

3) V1.06 Firmware for LCD program box
After updating your LCD program box to this new firmware, when the LCD program box is connected with the ESC, the firmware version of the ESC can be shown on the LCD. With this new function, it is much easier to check the current firmware version of your ESC.
This improvement comes from the suggestions of our customers and friends. Thanks very much !!!

4) 100324_3R Firmware
It is used for XERUN-80A and XERUN-150A ESC of 1:8 scale cars.

The bugs in the 0422Stock firmware:

1) If the Start Model (Punch) is set to an option less than "Level 6", the motor cannot get its full speed.

2) When the car runs into a big curve, the turbo function may be shut off when the throttle stick is closed, and the turbo function wil be activated again after 0.x second (=Turbo delay time), that makes the motor cogging, so the motor cannot run very smoothly.

The new firmware (100518Stock) hasn't the above bugs and improves the control feelings.

So other then that everything is the same?? And now does this mean you can have the start punch at a level below 6 and still get full motor speed?

@Hobbywing:

I have a suggestion for future firmware version. I'd like to add an additional Timing Punch option for Turbo Timing. This way Boost Timing and Turbo Timing can increase at different rates. Example: Boost Timing can be increased 1deg. every 400rpm and Turbo Timing can be increased 1deg. every 200rpm. This way we could achieve different acceleration characteristics on the infield and on the straight.

Thanks

Does anyone ever use the first couple options in boost timing (item 9)? Unless people are actually using these low boost setting, they seem useless. It'd be nice to see everything shifted up.
Example:
1) 0 deg (Off)
2) 9 deg
3) 12 deg
4) 15 deg
5) 18 deg
6) 21 deg
7) 24 deg
8) 27 deg

OR if people use options 2 and 3 then maybe add option 9 and 10.

I'd rather have too much than just enough to work with. Same thing with Turbo Timing. 1deg, 2deg and 3deg just don't seem like enough to be useful. I'd like to see these settings shifted up a bit too.
