Some information about brakes .
Now it seems that some of you dont really understand the braking system on the HW esc's as i have received emails about not enough brakes ,delays in brakes etc .
Now the software with brakes hasnt changed since the day HW started so to say that software has change the brakes as to no improvement is not true .
here is some info for you to understand the braking system and how it works .
maximum brake force: The esc provides proporsional braking function. The Braking force relates to the position of the throttle stick .Maximum braking force refers to the force when the throttle stick is located at the top (end point) of the reverse zone .A very large brake force can shoten the braking time but can stip your spur gear.
Initial brake force : Also known as minimum brake force ,and it refers to the force when the throttle lever is located at the initial position of the reverse zone .The default value is is equal to the drag brake force so the braking effect can be very linear and smooth.
Drag Brake force :set the amount of drag braking applied at the neutral throttle position to simulate the light braking effect of a neutral brushed motor while coasting.
The are only two reasons why you wouldnt have enough brakes
1.braking settings are wrong .
2.esc is on its way out .
according to checks on older software that i was sent by email we have concluded after checks that nothing has changed along the lines of software upgrades for brakes especially less brakes .
Most times it can also be the speed and setting functions of your radio .
next i will post info about turbo settings so you all understand how it works .
regards Angelo

I will make a video in the next couple days that shows what I'm talking about. I've been involved in R/C racing for 20 years now so I'm quite aware of all of the brake settings and how they interact. For the record, I have HW, Novak and Tekin ESCs currently. The HW is the only speedo that will not go full 100% brake from any forward trigger position without a physical pause in neutral with the trigger. With the pause, I get proportional (100% in this case) brakes. Without the pause, I get a delay in the time it takes to get full brakes (solid green LED).
Pretty basic issue. Perhaps that's just the way the HW speedo works. If so that's fine, but I don't belive it's working as intended.

I have a question about the new hobbywing xerun motors, The ones that have the bullet connectors for the motor wires and the redesigned sensor connector. They have fixed timing so how much timing do the 10.5t and 13.5t have?

Im sure the timing is fixed at 18-22 degree.anyone who tells you zero is lieing no matter what brand or motor .

teamcobraracing and this way we can have a video conference and i can see 100% what your talking about and the issues you have .

I'll put something simple together and get you a link or a file to review.
I appreciate the support.

Thanks, In combination with the xerun esc there is a temperature cuttoff if the motor gets too hot. Do you know by any chance how much the temperature cutoff is? I can't find it on the site or manual.

Hi Angelo,
Drag Brake force - is this only in the neutral postion or the entire throttle range (including positive throttle).
i.e. if you go from 100% to 80% throttle, increasing this value will make you slow down from 100% to 80% in a shorter amount of time.
I feel the drag brake force is in effect for the entire throttle range when I change this setting.
Thanks.
