Default what power supply are you using?

Ok, my PS when up in smoke last weekend so I'm in the market for a new one (or two...one for home and one to go). Whats out there that puts out 15-30 amps how much?

I am using a ProPeak 20amp to run my Checkpoint T1030 and Ice chargers without any problems.

Also, that is a expensive for the Ofna one. I can get them at my track for $50 out the door. I believe it is the same one.

I use two supplies, a 20amp Propeak and 25amp Radio Shack. Both have been solid and I've used either to run both my 0610iNet Hyperions chargers.

Amain has that Ofna PS for $85...

I'd consider this one if I needed another -

I am using a modified PC P/S. I think I spent $5 to get it going.

I also have the Radio Shack 25 amp model, & it's been working perfectly for over 3 years for me(which is pretty odd given how cheap most of RS's stuff can be). I believe they actually get theirs from the same people that make a PS for Competition Electronics(which is rated at 23 amps & usually sells for about $30 more). If you can find the Radio Shack one, I highly reccomend it....

I'm using the ProPeak 20amp. I've had it powering 3 chargers at a time with no problems.

Thanks for all the replies. I was running the 20 amp propeak and that is the one that crapped out on me. Apparently it doesn't have a fuse or other overcurrent protection as a friend tapped in and we were overdrawing the thing. lol
Trying to go on the cheap I've been looking at a computer PS as the most likely option atm. Newegg has some nice ones for $40 apiece or less shipped.

Using a HP J4839A power supply for a ProCurve 41xx/53xx modular network switch.

24V at 23A.

While I had to disassemble it to examine the connector outputs and build a harness out of an old ATX power extension cord, it was worth the effort.

Powers my Hyperion DUO3 effortlessly.

Edit: Corrected part number. You can get these for under $100 on Ebay. They are designed for 24x7x365 operation and are tough nuts. All high quality transformers and caps inside

I can't find the one I'd really like to find - it was sold on Ebay under name Samlex. I beileve they were at one time making the supplies for Radio Shack. I don't think my current Radio Shack is a Samlex. I knew several who used 25a Samlexs for bench supplies (they were not a switching type supply) and they lasted for years even under abusive conditions - pulling 23 - 25a continuous out of a 25a supply.

Thats a prob with the switching supplies I've seen, they don't seem to last long if you're using them at the high end of their capacity. I've pushed mine a time or two - two 0610iNet Hyperions charging at 10amps each and the smell it left in the room was a warning. Reason I added the other supply.
