Contact LRP, though I hear thier customer service sucks, they can fix it but not for free unless it's under warranty and you don't tell them what you did

LRP service is a bit slow, but I've had good luck with them. I did the exact thing as you (reversed polarity hookup) and they replaced a Sphere with a new SXX. The fee was just over a $100 and took about a month. If I were you, I'd be very honest and tell them exactly what happened.
