It was bad enough the first one was damaged when I got it "damaged receiver wire" (ok I made that one worse by trying to fix it lol) but two in a row is not a good rep building exercise that's for sure.

what kind of service are you expecting when you post that type of trash?

I assure you....

it is fact and therefor NOT trash that I have recieved 2 Rapida Pros in a row that have been damaged before I even got to use them.

As for what kind of service I don't expect anything from a company where all I got is "send it back" the first time. Where sending it back from NZ ends up costing more than the part would.

I don't know how it is in the US but here in NZ we have something called the sales of goods act. Which means something must be fit for the purpose for which it was intended.

And sorry if you don't think so but a cut receiver lead or a facing that falls off is not fit for the purpose. And I'll be damned if I'm going to spend $25 US to post an item back for a part that's probably only worth a few cents.

If you don't like the "trash" as you call it quite frankly I'm not to worried when I've had a bad run with items that have each time cost me more than a weeks wages in NZ terms.

it's still not going to get your equipment fixed any faster. All I'm saying is a nicer approach will get better results. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Understood.....

and I did remove the words that may have been considered off-colour and I understand about a nicer approach and now I've removed the "off-colour" part I think it's ok. But you may have guessed I've tried the nicer approach before and got no results.

Anyway yeah I re-read it and changed it a bit and my apologies if any offence was taken by those that may have read it prior to editing.

Get it up and running, you won't be dissapointed.

Mabuchi - I just checked and my spam blocker has been filtering your emails to me. I fixed the problem.

If you send it back to us we will send you a new replacement, thats the best we can do for you. I have emailed Keyence about your difficulties and they have replied that they will Q/C current stock for your issues. We will do so today for our stock.

I apologize for your difficulties.

STLNLST 01-13-2005 06:48 AM

It doesn't get any better than that.

You've got mail, well ok you will have in a few minutes I'm sending this one first. lol

Right now that that's all sorted.....

I've just discovered the number one reason to get a Keyence over a Novak GTX....the manual.

I thought the Keyence one looked a bit tricky but I wanted to see what the GTX preset profiles are so I downloaded the manual and that alone would have put me off. Talk about a hassle if you wanted to change anything.

While I think about it, is the Left/Center/Right switch on the Keyence supposed to/ok to be lose enough to rattle? :weird: The keyence I had before I stuffed up had quite a firm activation where as this one as mentioned above, rattles (in it's surround).

AdrianM 01-14-2005 06:43 AM

Mine are pretty loose but I have never shaken my car to see if they rattle:D

Dragonfire 01-14-2005 07:51 AM

It needs to be free cause that one long pice of plastic needs to work as three different buttons. It needs to be able to move around to do this.. so don't worry, its normal.

After much tucking and hiding things away as best I could.....

here it is in the car at last. :ha:

I wouldn't be me I didn't notice something however and unfortunately I have.

Have a look at how Keyence have attached the wires to the Esc, I notice how little an amount of wire actually seems to be soldered onto the tabs (most easily seen on the green wire).

I've never had one of these Esc before so I wouldn't know if it's enough to hold or put up with any movement the plugs might make as motor/battery are unplugged/plugged back in? :weird:

Dragonfire: You can also see in this picture what I emailed you about with regards the motor leads having to do a 180.

Edit: I also found a way to keep that bit of display screen plastic on as well. In the end I got an off-cut from the Speedtech RC sticker sheet (which appears to be vinyl) and stuck it over the top). I didn't have any ca at the time Adrian.

Dragonfire 01-18-2005 06:10 AM

Its the one weakness of the keyence having the buttons on the side. As long as it works it should be fine. If you have probs, try turning the speedy so buttons point at motor. Then you could run short wires to motor, or point away and have short wires to batt. As long as buttons can be accsessed one way or another.

kartermdb 01-18-2005 08:47 PM

Im disappointed with Keyence, mine broke recently along with 3 others at our local track. All had different problems.

I sent mine in and they said 4 to 6 weeks to get it back, this means I cannot race for at least the next month.:flaming: :flaming: :flaming:
