Since you are not familiar with the servos and you have only used one Sanwa servo 3 years ago not sure if you are qualified to chime in on their servos. Do you even have an m11x? MT4? Know what SSR is or what it does? He is looking for a specific line of servos to be used in SSR mode with a SSR receiver.

I have just purchased a new M11X.
Is there any advantage running a 7.4v Lipo over a 6.6v Life in the transmitter? My preference is Life (because it is safer and last longer), but I am wondering if the radio performs better at the higher 7.4V voltage. Here is the Life I am referring to, anyone else using it? : http://www.rc-mushroom.com/product_i...ducts_id=16012 I am using this: http://www.rc-mushroom.com/product_i...ducts_id=20358 http://www.rc-mushroom.com/images/IP-2300S2S_L.jpg |
Thanks ganymede, will stick to the Lipo.

i just ordered a 1550mah lipo from hobbyking, i hope it works
should i fit a low voltage cut off? |
No need, like ganymede said, the M11x starts beeping & buzzing at you when the voltage gets to 6.0V so as long as you take the battery out when that happens you'll be fine.
BTW, I also use exactly the same black Intellect 2300mAh LiPo as ganymede & it is an awesome battery & for the price it's an absolute bargain. It lasts SO long too, I love it. |

ganymede, do you do a balance charge every time you charge your IP2300 LiPo or just once every 5 charges or some other routine? I've been doing a balance charge every time I charge mine, any reason to change my charging routine, as in not balance charging every time I charge it?
A good charger can balance charge fairly quickly, as I said, no excuse for NOT doing it... |
That's what I thought, but I remember reading in a couple different places that it's recommended to do a balance charge every few charges but I've always done it every time. Guess you can't go wrong with a balance charge coz then you know that each & every cell in the pack will be at exactly 4.20V every time the pack is charged.

do you guys remove the lipos from the radio when not in use?
|
I was asking the same thing a little while back, about unplugging or not & the LiPo instructions included with the battery always say to disconnect when not in use for more than about 1 day so that's what I do. I do wish I didn't have to though.

I know it is a hassle to unplug it at the end of the day every single time but I still think it is a cheap insurance to do so. If one worries frequent plug and unplug might damage the connector on the transmitter, one can use an male-female extension wire that is plug into the transmitter, when the connectors are worn out then just get another extension wire. |
i always remove, store charge and store my lipos in a lipo sack after each use...but i keep my nimh batts on my tx... i might get that extension wire when i get my tx lipo batt...
|
To anyone wanting to use a lipo and not lose the feel and balance of the nimh packs try the thunderpower Prolite G4 1800mah lipo. Wieghs 15 grams less than the nimh pack and feels almost the same in the Radio. Ive added some foam to stop it moving around and this has added almost the missing 15 grams.
IMO IP lipos are cheap crap and I will not use inferior products in such a high end radio. |
Hi,
