Thanks Guys for the help. Much appreciated
Cheers |
How does everyone like their M11x After owning one & racing with one for awhile?
I've been looking into buying the M11x radio from the time I first heard of it's release. I've been using the DX3r but I'm looking for a wheel that's on the same axis as the trigger, such as the m11x has, naturally.
My question to M11x owners is, after now owning and using your radio for many months now, do you find the M11x to be as comfortable and lightweight as you would like it to be? Long story short, how do you like your Radio after now having used it and owned it for some time now? Also, how does the throttle spring and break tension and range feel? I read that the tension on the throttle and brake and steering are all individually adjustable. I tend to run all tensions at the softest/ least tension settings when I have a choice. Also, those of you running a Lipo battery in your M11x, which lipo do you recomend if you were to buy a new lipo today, should I buy the highest mah I can fit in the radio, or the lowest mah to help keep weight down. Also- how do you prevent the radio from overdischarging your lipo battery? Are you setting the vibration and audible alarm to warn you at exactly or very near the 6volt mark, I'm not certain if the M11x uses a 2cell lipo. Anyone that can share their experience and knowledge with me- I'd most appreciate it. And I'd like to hear from many owners of this radio to gather a general concensus of owner experience. Also has anyone had to send their M11x in for repairs and if so, where did you send the radio and how was your experience with customer service. And how long- how much time did the repairs take to be completed. Any fees for work done? Thank you in advance. Each of these questions are very important to me. And your answers can help me determine if I will buy this radio. |
I had the DX3R first and now M11x with a lipo so i'll share my response
Weight * I loved the the dx3r it was just so easy and I got used to the super light weight aspect of it so when i transfered to the m11x it felt so heavy that I thought I was going to drop it but when I put in this lipo that cured the heavy aspect and the battery life is AMAZING almost as good as DX3R. Control of car * I do have to say even though the dx3r is super fast I seem to be more "connected" with the M11x as they say I like it!!

DX3r vs M11x with a LiPo battery.
Thank you Jason- for sharing your experience with your old and new radios. This is awsome to know. I very much appreciate the information you've written.
PS. Jason, may I please know which model lipo you use in your M11x? And do you use a radio charger or do you take your lipo out and charge the lipo with your RC battery charger? Thanks again Jason :)

I am using this: http://www.rc-mushroom.com/product_i...ducts_id=20358
http://www.rc-mushroom.com/images/IP-2300S2S_L.jpg Fairly lightweight and very good battery life! Much smaller than the stock configuration with 6 pcs AA cells. One EXTREMELY important thing to remember is NEVER charge any LIPO pack with your radio charger as the charger is only good for NICAD and NIMH only, charging LIPO with the included charger is a disaster waiting to happen. Use a good LIPO capable charger and balance charge it always. Also, if you are using NICAD and NIMH battery, please DON'T charge them inside the transmitter, take them out and charge it. If you charge your batteries inside the transmitter, any voltage spike or battery failure due to overcharging you might take out the transmitter as well. Take out your batteries and charge them on a good charger, the worst thing can happen is you killed your batteries and your charger but spared your 300 bucks transmitter... |
Great LiPo for Sanwa M11x.
Thank you very much for this information. I very much appreciate it. I will pay close attention to your advice. Up to this point in time, I've always charged my batteries inside my radio. I will always remove my batteries to charge them from now on. It's a simple precocion I'll be all to glad to adhere to. I see no reason to risk ruining a radio for the convenience of not removing the rechargeable batteries; and now that I've come to realize- no matter the chemistry.

I use the protek receiver battery in mine. It fits nicely and lasts forever. Very lightweight also.

LiPo Battery For M11x Radio + Spring Tension Adjustments For Wheel And Throttle.
Thank you for posting this direct link to the Lipo battery you use in your M11x.
Jason- Is this LiPo a tight fit, or do you use foam and or some kind or type of spacers to fill in the gaps on either side of the lipo battery when it's inside your M11x? Also, can you please clarify if the M11x has both a throttle and brake spring tension adjustment, and also a spring tension adjustment for the steering wheel? Which would allow the throttle/brake and steering to be made easier or harder to move. Thank you for sharing all of this information Jason. I very much appreciate it.

Hi guys, i have a few questions regarding the format you use in different parts of the world. Im in Australia and use the FHF3 setting on the M11x. In other parts of the world I believe people are using the FH3 setting. The reason why im asking is that ive jus started setting up a new large scale gas rc boat and am finding that my range has dropped to about 50 meters only on water. Any suggestions help would be greatly appreciated.
Radio has been tested onland and getting over 550feet or 170 meters. Im using the RX451 receiver with the M11X TX. I really need to get this problem sorted out. |
You can get a lipo for 10 bucks shipped on ebay. Just search for a 3pk lipo, they are the same size. It's a transmitter battery, it doesn't need to be a top of the line $50 battery
Here you go: http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Futaba-3PK-Tr...item27acbe125e Make sure to double check the wiring to make sure it's the right polarity before you install it, some radios are different and I can't remember if futaba and airtronics use the same configuration. |
10.oo Dollar LiPo for M11x.

This is the battery I was talking about...you use the included foam spacer to fill in the gap. It doesn't move around and it's ten times lighter. Very nice.

Thank you for the information, and furthermore- thank you for a specific link. ebay happens to be very new to me- in other words, I've never purchased anything from ebay yet. Though I just recently began to use pay pal. I think the next step is ebay. Thank's again :) |

M11x uses one 2cell lipo + DX3r drop down wheel.
Thank you for the important detail. Makes me wonder if the three cell variety only cost ten dollars, the two cell version may cost even less.
I've not purchased the M11x yet. I'm in the research stage of the process. That's the reason I'm here on this thread, I'd like to know if anyone that bought the M11x became unhappy with it for any reason and moved on to another radio/transmitter, and the reasons for this choice. I'm also considering buying the original M11 and using a lipo, I think the old M11 uses a 3cell but I would have to confirm this, and adding the spectrum module because I already use the DX3r and have many receivers. But I don't mind starting all over if the M11x is significantly better in every or at least many ways. Primarily I'm looking for a lightweight, comfortable radio. When I go to the track, I'm running the buggy almost nonstop from track open to track close. I only pit to change the battery, and I'm right back out onto the track. A radio that doesn't seem heavy at first can get quite heavy quite fast after several hours on the track. My DX3r stays light all day no problem, but I don't like the placement of the wheel. Neither does most of the pro racers, which is why many of the Losi team use a drop down wheel for the past three years which is exclusive to them and is said to have no plans for the public- which makes no sense to me because they could make more money selling the drop down wheel for that radio. The M11x series already has the wheel in a comfortable position which is one reason I like the radio. To see the dx3r drop down wheel google search Adam drakes dx3r drop down wheel, if you can't find it I can post a picture and or a link. Thank all of you for your insight and talking about your experiences with your radios. Please continue to post as many reviews as possible. Every opinion is valued here. Thanks again everyone :)
