There is any advantage in running the RX-471 compared to the RX-451R with the Sanwa M11X ??

Thanks in advance.

Rx-471 is fhss4 and does not work with the m11x. The 92451 is the best you can do with an m11x. Ssr gives you a latency of 2.5ms

Your basic receiver is the smallest. 92744. Or 92451.

Is there a performance difference between 451 or 744 receivers? Running digital servos but not airtronics.

Yes

4.5ms with 92744

2.5ms with 92451 which has ssr

Using either receiver, in your set-up menu, set your servo mode to shr with digital servos or brushless servos, to get them faster.

and as a human, its hard to feel the difference 2.5ms - 4 ms.
but u can feel its a great radio :tire:

I disagree. Maybe the older guys can't, but us younger guys can feel the difference. That's real.

nickdawg18 11-21-2013 05:33 PM

uh huh, i bet you can! lol

Slo_E4 11-21-2013 05:55 PM

Lol. I'm sorry you lack the level of eye hand coordination it takes to feel the latency difference in radios and receivers. Everyone is different. :D

ALB function on/off

Just got a used M11X (obviously).

How can I see that the ALB function is off?

When I go the the ALB menu, it has factory default some values preset.

If I dont't want the ALB to be active, how do I ensure that?

Never mind, I found the answer........I read the manual :-)

Sure is the best way to find out almost everything about the M11x... Just wish everyone would RTFM before they ask their questions. But I have to say that the M11x manual is one of the worst I've come across, in that it often leaves one with more questions than it answers and is [very] often either ambiguous, lacking any real informative and explanatory detail in the descriptions of the various functions of the M11x or just simply makes no sense whatsoever and is even illogical/non-sensical or doesn't actually explain exactly what a particular function or feature does or how it works or in what situation one would use it instead of or as well as some other feature of our TX.

That's it, getting off my soap box now. Just my $0.02.

Absolutely!!! Grab yourself an Intellect 7.4V 2300mAh 2s LiPo pack. I know of 5 or 6 guys who all use this same battery (as do I) and have had zero problems ever since the first charge, well over 18months ago for a few of us.

On a full charge the pack lasts over 12hrs with the LCD on 100% of the time. Under 'normal' usage, which for me means the LCD backlight stays on for either 20 or 30 seconds, the pack lasts in excess of 18hrs. Even though it lasts so long and would usually last 3-4weeks of practice and racing (if practicing on the 1st and 3rd weekend of the month and racing on the 2nd and 4th weekends), I still balance charge mine about every week or so. As with all varieties of Lithium-based batteries, the more often they're charged, the better it is for them and they even last longer if charged often and absolutely never allowed to get anywhere near <30% capacity. My pack is getting very close to 2yrs old I think and it still lasts just as long as when it was new, still takes in as much or even more charge compared to new and it fits the M11x perfectly and is very light.

Against common wisdom, I leave my pack plugged into the M11x constantly, even if I might not use the TX for a few weeks and there's been zero detrimental effects from doing so.:p

Finally, absolutely for sure the best thing about this battery pack is the price. Just US$20 incl. worldwide postage:eek: from RCmart (and perhaps also RCmushroom but I've not tried them).

IMHO there simply is no better LiPo pack for the M11x.:nod: Why waste money on a 'name brand' pack when most brands use Intellect cells and many even get Intellect to manufacture their packs and just put the other company's shrink wrap on. And why go for something with higher capacity because if 2300mAh lasts at least 18hrs, what's the point of having a 3600mAh pack, for example.

Hope that helps.

Cleaning

I have bought a used M11X.

I have been working perfectly for a couple of weeks.

Recently, my Futaba BLS351 servo has begun to jitter when I have my 8ight E on the carstand. Doesn't seem to matter for the stearing when driving.

I have not done any error searching yet, but I have read some posts where it can either be the servo gone bad or the radio's potentiometer.

But before I do anything drastic, I would like to clean the M11X to eliminate that any potentiometers, swichthes etc. are dirty, dusty.

SO, how, or can I, clean the M11X without tearing it to pieces? How do I do it, and what are the spots to definetely clean?

Thanks!

aaron125 03-13-2014 01:26 PM

When you say that the servo is jittering, what exactly so you mean? Almost all digital servos will jitter when car is not moving simply because with modern computer controlled, high speed/low latency RX and TX because the servo position is being updated perhaps 100+ times per second.

I use HiTec 7950 and 7954 and they always jitter when car is stationary. It's definitely nothing to worry about. I heard the exact same sounds (same sound as my car makes when stationary) in a vid with Drake showing how to set ride height, so if that's what you're referring to, everything's fine. If something else is going on, such as a visible amount of movement from the servo, that's something different and should be looked at.

Regarding cleaning your TX, I would definitely suggest contacting Airtronics tech support as I've emailed them a number of times and they've always been very helpful and quick to reply to my questions.

Let us know how you go.

My antenna on my M11x radio broke and cannot find one,I even contacted Airtronics and they are on back order.Does another manufacture antenna work or is their an aftermarket antenna available?

aaron125 03-13-2014 06:33 PM

There sure is mate - I've been using a 'shorty' style antenna for about 2-3 years now and I've very satisfied with its performance. No problems with range or interference or anything for that matter. And it looks so much better than the original antenna that's on the M11x and 4PKS. I bought mine from eBay but I know that Team C also sells the identical shorty antenna. Just don't know from where one can purchase Team C products. Maybe they're available directly from the Team C website? I'll see if I can find my antenna on eBay. In a pinch, most computer wifi router antennae will work just fine as that is where the original M11x one came from. Needs to be a screw-in antenna, of course, just something to be aware of as most newer wifi routers don't use the older style screw-in antennae anymore. Actually, most PC wifi card adapters or even USB wifi adapters still use the screw-in style, so that could also be an option.

Finally, also search for an antenna which fits a 4PKS as they use the same antenna as our M11x does. Happy hunting mate. Hope that helps in some way.
