I thought there was a setting in the LCD Box for automatic detect of 2 cell or 4 cell. There is also (as I read) a setting for other choices. Sounds like it might be set wrong.

auto cell detection doesnt work on these

a fully charged 2s is at 4.2 per cell which reads as a low voltage 3s

i have manually changed it to 2s using the lcd and still no luck

thinking about slapping in a 4s then trying to change it manually from 4s to 2s again... heard that worked for someone

my last resort will be to put my CC BEC on. i REALLY dont want to do this

Auto detect should work just fine when using 2s or 4s packs on the 80A Xerun. It does for me anyway. A 3s pack would have to be discharged down to 2.8V/cell resting to be recognized as a 2 cell, which would damage the cells.

I have run my Ve8 with 2 cells with the 2250 Kv buggy motor and it seems to work fine. But your glitching issues definitely sounds like a BEC problem. Have you tried a capacitor on your receiver?

The only problem I was having running my 150A on 2s was with the servo I have drawing so much that I was getting brownouts to my transponder. After installing the CC BEC all is well now. And running the CC 3800 4 pole I swear it is just as smooth as any sensored combo I have. I have nothing but good things to say about the speedo.

Hi There fishboy, can you tell me what setup you are running on your esc with the 2250kv motor, i have a D8 that i converted with the TEKNO kit.

What gears and esc setup?
Thaks.

Default Xerun 1S Vs 120A (2S)

gurus!!!

have a question about the 120A V2.1(2S) vs the 1S version? aside from the BEC what is the advantage of using a 1S as against the 120A 2.1 xerun ESC with FAN?

Is the 1S requires a Fan?( i think Fan is included right? or is ok with out it? dont have plans on using more thatn 2S lipo onto it and the lowest Turn i can run is 6.5T but realistically 8.5T will be enough..

any feedback would be appreciated, as im planning to get one for my sons Truck.

thanks,

Default Another "what have i got"-question

Well, i know what it says on this esc, atleast enough to open the right thread to ask in

All i need is a manual for this one, i don't exactly know if i have been looking at the right one after a bit of searching.

Oh, and can this be used together with a programming card? Or do i just use the little red button by the on/off-switch?

fairly sure the black case 80a was made for a specific company (think a rtr 1/8)
it cant use a program box like the blue version but can be programmed by the little red button.
fairly sure this is the manual http://www.hobbywing.com/uploadfiles...l/HW-09-80.pdf
i had one worked well

thanks,
the 120a 1s was designed towards 1/12 and 1/10 pan cars, hence the bec voltage boost on 1s.
but it will also run 2s with stock (dynamic timing) or mod firmware
fairly sure i doesn't use a fan or need one

So say I wanna turn down the amount of brake force, would I turn down the reverse setting on the esc or just drop the EPA on my radio?

I'm using the stock 50T spur with a 16T pinion on a medium size outdoor track. I have also tried an 18T pinion and liked the speed down the straight but my run times were shorter. This is on 4s of course, with the Xerun 80A with timing set at 0 for max efficiency.

try 12 or 13t if you can fit it.

That is correct, i traded a nitro engine for this esc and motor in my local hobby store, and this combo was taken out of an 1/8-car. It also says "RTR version" on a label under the motor cables.

Thanks a bunch! I will have a better look at it tomorrow.

The black ones are sold in Redcat, exceed and serveral others budget RTR models. They are exactly the same specs as the blue 80A cased ESC. But a hole under the sensor post plug. Ran one with a Castle 1515 2200kv for along time in my Revo and Maxx. As water resistant as you'll ever need and as much power as higher priced ESC's
And VERY smooth paired with a quality motor.
Just got a killer deal on a nice 8ight e 2.0 and just placed an order for the 80A/2250kv M1 combo. Should be great!
