Questions?? Protek Case Foam

Hey Y’all,

I bought this case from Amain months ago and have been using it with out a(an) foam insert(s). I would like to put my Futaba 4PX, iCharger 4010, power supply, and other things in it, but not how I have them right now, which is in their cardboard boxes in the case. I want them to fit into foam spots that I cut out for them. I don’t like how the inserts AMain has to offer are cut, including the “pick n pluck.” The inside dimensions of the case are 20x14x8”. Does anyone know where I can get an uncut block of foam(the same type of foam as the protek inserts) for this case, whether it’s online or a brick and mortar store? I’ve looked and looked and haven’t found anything. If any of you think the cuts I’ll make in the foam will be messy and won’t look good, don’t worry. I have access to a gigantic laser cutter that I can precisely cut my desired design with. Thanks for all your help in advance!!!

I used cushion foam purchased from a craft store. They had 2 densities, this was the higher density stuff, dark brown. I just cut it with a snap blade knife.

Appreciate it, but I am looking for the same kind foam as sold from Protek, just not cubed up or precut.

I know there are companies who can provide these foams laser cut with all the holes you want. Maybe you have to search a music store who is also selling podium equipment. They probably can guide you to the right companies.

I've found those, and the cost to have them do everything is over 4x the cost of the case itself.

These are a lot cheaper than the protek cases, and come with foam.

edit

just thinking, they are cheap enough, if you cant find foam itself, get one of these, just for the foam lol

He doesn't want pluck foam, and I can't say I blame him since I hate it too, lol.

I had a guy in Cleveland I found on etsy laser cut some foam a couple times. He does good work, and I didnt think he was that expensive. You can find him here.

^^ Isn't that the kind of foam that the big kindergarten puzzle piece floor squares are made of? It's seeming like I may not be able to find what I'm looking for

Well, yes, maybe, kinda? I dont really know. Its just the kind of foam the guy that laser cut it and I decided to go with (you might notice the blue foam, is an entirely different foam). It wasnt the only option.

This is an image of one of his etsy listings:

Just search pick and pluck foam. The companies that sell it sell the foam in blocks as well.
