still using my v1's in other classes and no issues

I've been running a V2 for the past month in my nitro with no problems. I had one V1 FGr4S fail and two bad V1 FGr4 receivers. The V2 FGr4 in my ebuggy has been working fine for the last few months.

Just a quick comment. Last week I bought a friends entire RC collection, and in it was a spektrum DX5R. These spektrums are popular at my local track (as are the 3X and 4X), and this is really the first personal contact interaction I have had with one. Now I can only attest to the feel of the radio in my hand and the usability of the firmware, because I did not pair it to a car and use it to drive, just turned it on, reset to factory, and just made sure it was working. I gotta say, I am not a spektrum fan. It felt very plasticy, and the firmware seems very clunky compared to the touch screen of the NB4. I dont know, I was just surprised at how much I just did not like this radio. Someone at the track quickly took it off my hands, money in my pockets lol

Hey folks. It sounds like the v2 version of the receivers are working so far, but how do you determine whether the receiver is version 2?

Confirm with the seller before buying. They'll say V2 on the main label or on a sticker on the bottom of the receiver.

Thanks! I recently noticed that the frysky had the "V2" labeled on the new receivers. However everywhere I looked online only had the picture of the old the receiver and the descriptions didn't mention anything about which version.

Where are you guys getting the v2 versions?

Gyro

I have this radio and have not used it yet. Does it have a gyroscope? Will it work with TSM?

Just got FGr4P receiver. It's pretty good. Signal is a tad stronger than FGr4S too.

I'll make a micro receiver for 1/28 car out of it.

It doesn't have built in gyro but you can install a gyro unit to it just like you would do with rwd drift car.

Setting and verifying failsafe on the NB4

Got a big problem with my NB4. Ran my GT8 in the street to test some changes. Hit the throttle but it wouldn't let off. Very scary watching a car that fast out of control. After I retrieved the car and pulled the plug I checked the failsafe on the NB4 and it looked ok. Put the car on a block, pulled throttle, held it and shut the transmitter off. Of course i had to answer the question if i really wanted to shut it off. Answered yes, transmitter shut off and the car kept right on running. Proceeded to check another car and the same thing happened. I am hoping this is something I'm doing wrong as I like the NB4 but I won't drive a car without the failsafe working. I looked at a short YT video, repeated the steps exactly, but when I shut the transmitter off the car kept running. Has anybody had a problem with the failsafe or does anybody have any ideas about what is going on?

Thanks
Rich

This is what happens when you get old, LOL. I had this problem back in Oct and had totally forgotten about it. Never did do the update. So that's where I'm headed now.

Did the update and no problem setting the failsafe. I wonder if they knew there was a problem with the old firmware and that is why they wiped all the old models and settings out. As long as I can trust the failsafe, I'm happy.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out.

Not holding neutral range

I ran the NB4 for 2 days and on both models it keeps losing neutral calibration. At first I thought I was bumping the trim button but it was centered. Channel 2 ends up being off by roughly 20 steps. It's always forward and it messes with what you have left for brakes. Any ideas out there?

I just picked one of these up for my 1/5 scale cars after having range issues with a Brand new MT-44 by sanwa. Any tips?
