Hey all I'm looking at getting this radio. Currently have the FS IT4, had it for 5 years with no issues with 3 models binded to it, its just getting a bit tired..
I really liked the it4s software, is this Noble pretty much the same setup? My only complaint with the IT4 was the screen was so easy to scratch even with a cover on it looked terrible after a year or so of rack use, is the Noble display glass like a phones or still plastic covered? Contemplating between the Noble for $260 or a IT4S for $160.,. (Australia) |
The Noble has a plastic screen. I have the Tworkz screen protector on mine. I never used the IT4 but my NB4 is holding up well ever since I got it back in March or April.

I have had the it4, it4s, and the Noble. If you have the it4 and like it, I highly suggest the Noble. Yes, it's the same firmware, but updated. You won't notice much difference going from 4 to 4s, but you will going 4 to Noble.
Ok thanks, I might stretch the budget and get the Noble, I'll invest in a screen protector as well. How do you find the Noble comfort wise compared to the IT4? Always liked the it4s feel even though it did feel a bit lightweight and cheap. I also have a big hands which limited the radio market for me. |

does anyone know if the firmware updates i havent done yet could cause issues with the V1 antennae-less receivers?
i keep getting times in races where i loose signal for a split second. its deadly at the end of a straight like happened on this past saturday. Its happened to other vehicles i have using the V1 RX units. I think there is something really wrong with the V1, and thats why they have a V2, and anyone sourcing RX units needs to make sure to get a V2. I started with 8 V1. Im down to 4. Two were dead out of the package, two died in use. of the 4 left, two of them are having this glitch i speak of. I bought an m12rs a couple weeks ago to test out if I like it and if it performs better than this noble. My confidence in a sanwa RX unit right now is way better than noble. Ive been using my noble for 6 months now and love the radio. hate the RX troubles ive had. I havent been able to fire up the Sanwa yet, still setting it up. But I can tell you the menu system and interface of the noble is a hundred times better, easier, and more user friendly than the one on the sanwa. I was looking at a buddies m17 the other day, and its menu/interface didnt look any better than the 12, at least not for the price diff. I like the feel of the wheel and trigger on the sanwa, but havent actually used it yet. I like the wheel and trigger on the noble a lot, plenty of adjustments. I like how the noble trigger can open and close quite easy to accommodate my slim fingers, lol. I have had the foam around the wheel slip on me when doing an aggressive turn, haha. you know, when the wheel wont turn anymore, but dang it, you keep turning that wheel cause your car needs to turn dammit. The sanwa is WAY bigger too, and somewhat top heavy and heavier all around. If the V2 rx units are reliable for me, it will come down to witch one feels better while driving. I do really like the compact size of the noble, and the dual battery system. I really like the noble a lot and wish the RX units wouldnt have failed me, I would have preferred not to get the sanwa. not trusting your RX in a race though hurts my psyche. :) |
I've had one V1 FGr4s and two V1 FGr4 receivers fail on me. FlySky sent me a V2 FGr4 and a V2 FGr4s. I'm using a V2 FGr4 in my ebuggy and another V1 FGr4s in my nitro buggy for now. So far so good.

We have heaps of the original FGR4s between two Nobles and never had an issue.

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying your radios,
Has any one had any of the new FGr4S v2 Rx fail? Few people have mentioned they had the originals fail we have alot of them and haven't any issues - i had a electrician who repairs circuit boards take a look at my setup(he also does RC) He mentioned they could be like that lot of futaba RX that failed where if end points weren't set right, it was loading the RX and overheating it. I will keep running them in our electric cars untill one fails and get him to have a look at what happend - he advised not using them with Castle/tekin setups as the BEC's are not flash. |
