radio works great for my other 5 vehicles, and works with the broken down one again with my last and final RX i had. :P
So hopefully its not an issue with the trigger

Your neutral range idea Bill, that sounds promising. I know for a fact I have been messing with the neutral range settings on my ESCs (and radio), as well as trying all sorts of brake settings, as my finger doesnt know how to use breaks, lol.
So these ESC's i bet have lower neutral settings than factory default.

But that also doesnt explain the cutting in and out and losing signal.
But maybe its just the one that loses signal, and the other two wont bind due to neutral setting.
Ill give it try tomorrow and see what I come up with.

What about reverse polarity?
Im super careful with this, as I once fried an ESC, so I look really close at the plug for the - before plugging in the ESC.
But out of curiosity, are these like an ESC and you can fry them that way?
I have a servo that has all black wires and no indication of - and I plugged that in the wrong way, and it didnt blow.

You did mention that the ESC is old... it's possible that the pins need to be replaced in the servo connector.

I highly recommend this crimp tool here if you don't already have one:

I’ve heard that Flysky band doesn't agree with Spectrum. When the two are used in close proximity at the track they get glitches. Has anyone else experience this?

No, not at all.

And I see a good mix of flyskys and spectrum at the track all the time.

This is true with the older DSM and DSM2 protocols from Spektrum. The newer DSMR protocol has fixed this issue, however I still ran into glitching issues with my DSMR radio on a large track when the face of a jump had blocked line of sight with my Tx held at waist level, I had to hold the Tx above my head to avoid glitching in that far corner of the track so I ditched Spektrum after that :(

Thanks guy’s for the quick response. My transmitter ‘s should arrive tomorrow. I will be using them on my Xray T4 20’s (one is my wife’s car) whenever they arrive.

Just to clarify, it was Spektrum radios that were glitching, presumably getting interference from FlySky radios... easy solution was for drivers with FlySky radios to stand on one side of the stand and Spektrum on the opposite side of the stand. Problem would tend to go away after the radios were more than 4' apart, but if a Fly Sky driver would sway back and forth or move their radio around pointing in different directions during a race, that would cause intermittent glitching on Spektrum systems no matter what the distance was between the radios.

Before FlySky came along, Spektrum was by far the most popular brand at the tracks in my area, soon after FlySky radios showed up, Spektrum has been the least favorite, some tracks have actually banned FlySky radios at one point because they were causing too much interference, ha!

It was a problem with the older spektrum radios and the older FlySky AFHDS radios such as the GT3B.

It is really long thread, I did not read all through, what telemetry info you got on the radio screen?

doen08 11-06-2019 12:28 PM

My noble came with 2 fgr4s v2 and with already the latest firmware.😁

Anyone using fgr4p rx?

BambooSword 11-06-2019 03:50 PM

I actually have Spektrum old DSM (although it's the module installed in Futaba) with SR3500 receiver. Flysky AFHDS, AFHDS 2A and AFHDS3. Once I got some time I'll have a quick test to see if there's any interference.
I've never got any intermittent or loss of signal with Spektrum module before but I did have a runaway with one of FrSky receivers, V8R4-II. All my D8 receivers work fine though.

As default you'll get receiver voltage and signal strength. Another sensor can be added to the receiver for extra reading.

Didn't notice it comes out. I might get one while waiting for micro receiver to be available.

Wow! I didn’t realize how compact this transmitter is compared to my Futaba 7pxr or even my wife’s Futaba 4pm.
Feels good not to lite but not heavy neither.
I will be trying it out this Saturday at my local tracks club race.

Not all DSM and DSM2 radios will get hit by Fly Sky radios, it's a luck of the draw on if you just happen to have enough overlapping frequencies between both radios. I have seen cases where a some folks bought a new Spektrum radio and their problem went away for a while, then a new Fly Sky radio would show up after 6 months and they've had to buy another Spektrum radio again... shrug

Most folks in our area gave up on Spektrum completely.

BambooSword 11-06-2019 11:30 PM

That's the danger of direct sequencing. Just wait until someone to come along with hopping that overlaps the frequency and it doesn't work anymore. Other brands might not interfere but there's always a risk.
How is this anyone's false when Spektrum can't cope with interference? If anything doesn't work, just change to something else. I understand the ergonomics and familiarity but if it's too much of a trouble then just move to other brands.

New rx Fgr4p??

Have anyone used the new Fgr4p receiver?
I am suffering from loss of signal with the fgr4s, the fgr4 was out of stock from HK and I found fgr4p on aliexpress from a reputable supplier.. I searched the flysky website and they have the fgr4p listed(in Chinese, not yet in English).
Any thoughts? Anyone tested it? I have ordered 5 of them.

Also, where do you connect the temp sensor on the fgr4s? I read somewhere on the i-bus port. Does otwork directly or do I need to do anything else for the temperature to be displayed on the transmitter?
