I bought my NB4+ from Ali (which happened to be my first purchase from said site).

Just make sure you are buying from a US shipper. I received mine in 3 days and it has been flawless. I also updated mine before use with te latest firmware.

I am really having trouble binding my Fgr4b in my Nitro Buggy it says binding successful but no steering? I would appreciate any suggestions.

I have a Fgr4s that did me the same. since the return window had closed, I just use it for non race applications (bashing) and I use the 3rd channel for steering by mixing the 3rd channel with channel 1.

I took a gamble on this having been a Sanwa guy for over 15 years and all I can say is what a great choice it was.

Thoroughly impressed with it and for the money its a bargain, plug and play for VRC was an instant win too.

Is there a way to change the external battery indicator LED color to match with the transmitter indicator LED color on the NB4+? When I change the color on the transmitter the external battery stays green. Thank you

Binding

I have a new Nb4, withFGr4S receiver. I bought a Protek 160ss servo but can’t get it to bind.
The servo works with my older Sanwa receiver.
Any suggestions? Thanks

I'm not super familiar with the NB4, but own the same servo. Is the receiver bound to the transmitter? If the servo is not working it may be because the frame rate on the radio is set too high. I know when I use the fastest frame rate settings on our Sanwa radios that the Protek servos will not respond. May want to look at that.

It sounds like you have two separate issues that aren't necessarily related to each other. A receiver should bind regardless of the connected servo.
Which NB4 version do you have? NB4, NB4+ ??
I'd unplug the servo from the receiver and make sure it is bound first.

Is there any latency difference between the FGr4D and FGr4S? I couldn’t find anything about it in the specs.

What version of the software eliminated aftermarket receiver support? I want to upgrade mine, but don’t wanna lose the ability to use aftermarket receivers.

Hey NB4 group, I love my NB4 and have had it for 3 years. I never thought to update it until now. I tried updating and now I just get a blank screen. It restarts, says “Welcome to Noble,” then says it needs a firmware update. When I try to update, it only gets to 7% before stopping. I tried the reset button, but it does the same thing. To make it worse, I tried my backup transmitter and it’s doing the same thing. Has anyone had this problem or can help me get back to the track? Thanks.

In general: Always check the currently installed firmware version and compare to the version of the update file before you attempt. Since the original NB4 is discontinued, and depending on its age, more often than not, it was already delivered with the latest firmware. Unnecessarily attempting an update can potentially create more problems, as you can attest.

I used AI to generate this response: Let everyone know if it works for you.

To recover a FlySky Noble NB4 that has failed a firmware update or appears bricked, you can use a hardware reset or a "blind" forced update mode.
1. Forced Update Mode (Hardware Combination)
If the screen is blank or the device is unresponsive, you can force it into a "burning" mode to accept a new firmware file:
  1. Preparation: Download the standalone firmware updater tool (not the FlySky Assistant) for your specific region (EN/US or EU).
  2. Connection: Power off the radio and connect it to your PC using a high-quality USB data cable.
  3. The Trigger: Run the firmware updater software on your PC. Hold the Menu button on the transmitter while turning the power on.
  4. Flashing: The updater software should now recognize the port. Select the port and click the "Burn" or "Update" button.
2. Physical Reset (Hidden Buttons)
If the radio is completely non-responsive (won't even turn on to enter update mode), there are hidden physical buttons on the internal circuit board:
  • Location: These are located behind the rubber grip on the back of the radio, underneath the lanyard hook area.
  • Action: Carefully remove the rubber grip. You will see small holes. Pressing the hidden button on the right side has been reported to "unbrick" the device and restore normal power-up functionality.
3. Troubleshooting Connection Failures
  • Run as Admin: Always right-click the updater software and select "Run as Administrator".
  • Security Software: Temporarily disable Windows Defender or third-party antivirus (like Malwarebytes), as they often block the flashing process midway.
  • USB Port: Use a port directly on your motherboard (back of the PC) rather than a front-panel port or hub.
  • Battery Check: Ensure the base battery is properly clicked into place, as a poor connection can cause the USB interface to fail during the update.
Important: After a successful recovery, you must perform a Stick Calibration in the system menu, as firmware resets often lose these values.
