What servo and ESC are you running? Hope it works out well.

For the guys that are wondering I have bound a sanwa compatible rx-472 styled rx to my m17 in fh4t and ran fine I’m my last race

RazorRC 03-11-2019 01:30 PM

Hopefully this causes Sanwa to drop the prices on their official receivers. I'd prefer running the real stuff, but $99 for a receiver is ludicrous!

I agree that between $70 and $100 is a lot for a receiver. However, I knew when I bought a Sanwa transmitter that I was paying for a premium product. Therefore, I accepted that expense. I think that we also forget that the features offered by our Sanwa radios are pretty impressive. The speed, telemetry, and connectivity/programmability with our ESC's and servos all come at a cost. The processor in the receiver has to be more powerful and therefore more costly. Maybe there are, but I don't know of any other radios that offer this many advanced features.

I'm wondering now, having written this, if these budget receivers still allow us to make use of the advanced features?

futaba and hobbywing

ICEMAN96 03-11-2019 04:31 PM

OK who has the L-Shaped and how much. If there $70 I would rather buy a Sanwa.
Id like to see them around $40-$45 in the USA

Bartolo racing is advertising them for $50ish.

Hodgepodge 03-11-2019 06:11 PM

The HobbyStar HRX-472 showed up Friday and I raced over the weekend and it worked fine, no issues. I plan to get the L shaped one when available from rcjuice as long as it's reasonably priced.

We do not have ane exact EA yet, all shipments are still lagging due to the Chinese New Year holiday but we should see these within a week or two. Both L-shape Sanwa and Futaba receivers should be in at the same time.

Looks like everyone is offloading their Sanwa Receivers as of late so they can get some 2 for 1 specials, lol. Still waiting on my SMD's

That’s my thought too. Is telemetry working for those that have the Hobbystar HRX?

Chase1472 03-14-2019 10:07 AM

PowerStar FHSS RS472E L shaped one is back on eeeebay $35ish shipped. I bought one from this guy in HK and was delivered within a week.

All receivers will be $39.99. Apparently there is an issue with the label on the L-shaped receivers but they are otherwise ready to go, should not be too much longer on these.

Dan 03-14-2019 01:50 PM

Any of these receivers operate in Sanwa SSR mode? Asking for a friend, he picked up a Sanwa MT-44 recently.

Please let us know when you have the L shaped receivers in stock. I need one.

All:

I have updated the thread Title to state Sanwa Compatible Receivers.

I have also added a Wiki, so that any pertinent information may be captured

You will see I have added a few by Manufacturer, feature, and Part Number if available. As such the info should be filled in below, and if its a different receiver just edit and add that receiver into the Wiki.

Dan Supposedly the Ruddog RR482 and the SMD SRX2 are SSR compatible. I will not know for certain until I receive my SMD receivers from the UK. I do not know on the RR482, because it seems Amain no longer carries it in their catalog and Ruddog is listing it on their site as no longer in stock.

I must have missed it, but telemetry does work with these new receivers. It was confirmed on the very first page of the thread.

We will update the thread once they are here. This year has been especially miserable for the Chinese New Year hangover, super-sluggish getting back up to speed this year.

Received my SkyArea arx-482 today. It's going in a second vehicle I don't have yet, but I hooked it up to my ESC in my buggy & it bound to my MT-44 with no issues.

Got a link to the receiver? Everything I try to search for nothing shows up from SkyArea. Only thing I can find is a pic of it from the rear, post a pic of yours as well.

Try this:

https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ABxkrpQ

fwiw, I'm pretty sure some of the users offering then for sale on here are just buying these at the quantity discount & reselling them.

Edit: Hmm. For some reason clicking the link takes you to the AliExpress front page. If you copy & paste the text you get the right result though.

Anyone tried these in FH4T SHR / SSR mode, and compared to the genuine 482?
I wonder, while they are "compatible" with those modes, if the actual latency is identical or different from genuine?
I suppose it'd be hard to know without some stick-to-servo test gear like condac on here set up.

In any case, great to have a cheaper option for extra cars.
Thanks for sharing.

1/8 IC Fan 03-21-2019 02:59 PM

Found the SkyArea arx-482, thanks to the links provided.

Talk about poor technical specs and any info. Granted I am aware that these are all probably made in the same facility, but they could have provided a bit more detail,

good looking out. i'd rather roll the dice and take a chance with aliexpress than deal with the crap customer service of RCJUICE.

i bought my antenna-less hobbystar off of ebay and it arrived in about 9 days.

I just made my first order with RCJUICE and they shipped it out the next day and had prompt replies to my emails.

EDIT: Also, do you have a link for the receiver you got on eBay?

Soyer 03-30-2019 08:34 PM

Binds in ssr mode with pgs-cl servo just fine

Jeez, they are showing up everywhere! Lucky us.

Fired up my Hobbystar HRX-472 last night without any problems.

idlecurrent 04-02-2019 12:57 PM

I bought a pair of HobbyStar HRX-472s from RC JUICE and so far I've had no issues.

Teeyo 04-03-2019 11:06 AM

Got my Hobbystar HRX 472 installed yesterday and bound up no problem. Voltage telemetry works nicely.

However there is an issue. I pulled my servo plug out and it pulled the internal servo prong board loose :(
