Coax antenna length?

Coax antenna length?
I bought a generic 2.4ghz antenna to replace the damaged one on my Futaba receiver.
I've noticed it is only about 2/3rds of the length of the original Futaba antenna? Do any of the radio experts know if this will cause a problem? Seems OK in my house.
I also replaced the transmitter antenna at the same time as that was actually completely broken where the antenna folds for storage (not a great bit of design, I don't know why Futaba insist on fitting these external transmitter antennas). I've re-routed the replacement inside the case, away from the other components - again, any thoughts if this will cause a problem?
Thanks

It is all about the blank end piece, that is the actual antenna an needs to be arround 3.25cm long (1/4 wavelength), the rest is just a coax cable to the antenna like the coax cable at home from the tv to the aireal antenna or satelite dish outside.
