That's really disappointing to learn that I have to ship the servo back for stripped gears and will have to fork over an additional $15 every 15-20 race days like that. It would be better off to buy a handful of gear sets in bulk from AGFrc for $13/ea + $20 flat shipping.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...cc9ba832_o.jpg After doing the math in my head, I've come to realize that it's not worth it to continue testing the upgraded pin that I installed 5+ race days ago. I'm going to blow through too many gear sets that it just won't be worth maintaining NitroPro nor AGFrc servos... c'est la vie! So far I've got 6 race days logged with the SRT 9032 in my eBuggy and couldn't be happier with it... many years ago I got 2+ years of use with that same servo in my EB48.4 and ET48.3 without a single stripped gear nor any slop. |

I wonder what's different about your servos / setups. All of my close friends run some variation of AGFrc so including my 3 I know of another 5 in use currently. 1 in the new ET48 2.0. We also run the 55kg's in our crawlers but that's a different story.
I will provide honest feedback with SRT over time and see how they compare in 6 months to a year from now :) |

I race at Thornhill Racing Circuit which is a fairly large covered race track which is watered and the traction can rival that of many indoor clay tracks at times. I often tear the beads off the tires and have to re-glue the beads every 30 min of run time to give you an idea of the amount of force that is placed on the cars I race there. I seldom wreck and typically average around 96-98% consistency but I do tend to tap the pipe when taking tight lines which can put stress on the car.

Yeah but that's like nothing compared to my arrma notorious. That's a 12lb truck that I send to the moon. Also probably not much compared to my 9 year olds EB48 2.0 just based on how much he crashes.
Do you use a servo saver? I have been running the CT1 in 1/8 cars on a 1/8 track and haven't abused the servo in any shape or form. For $60 shipped in the CONUS, I'll be happy to part with the CT1 along with brand new gears installed and 2 spare sets of gears. I honestly feel the CT1 is decent enough for what it is, just expect to go through gears... I will not be selling any of the AGFrc branded servos that I still own, I can't in good faith re-sell what I feel is literally junk. I might include them as freebies in used car deals. |
good speed on 6.6v we'll see how good it's going to be on track and how long its gonna last |
***UPDATE FROM PREVIOUS POST***
It turns out that the gears are perfectly fine, and the pin that I installed is straight as an arrow with minimal wear, the issue causing the slop is the aluminum case is wearing out around where the pins slide into the case openings... so to fix the slop the aluminum case will need to be replaced... yikes! I'm going to contact NitroPro and initiate a warranty claim, I'll update my findings on how long it takes to get the servo repaired/replaced. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...802b2aaf_b.jpg

Yes, I am using the kit included servo saver and have adjusted it per the manual.

Sounds like the case needs steel or brass inserts for the pins.

Cheap junk but let us know how they treat you with the warranty....
I almost feel that the gears on the AGFrc servos are "too good"... I would rather have to replace worn gears than to have to deal with worn servo cases, ha! |
14 packs so far on my new ET48 2.0 build running another AGFrc 36kg. TQ'd and won the Amain by about 20 seconds last night in it's maiden race. :D
The 36kg in my EB48 2.0 is up to 58 packs. Reefs 400 SC up to 121 packs. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...4e9abf0a46.jpg |

You read my mind, I made the same recommendation to Jared Tebo for consideration of the next upgrade to the servo.
I agree that AGFrc branded servos are "cheap junk", but I appreciate what NitroPro is doing, they are making improvements to the designs based on AGFrc servos and offering a warranty as they continue to make improvements... not many brands are offering this. Obviously not junk. There's like a total of 3 or 4 people having these issues out of hundreds? Keeping in mind between the brand AGFrc and the re-brands reefs, nitropro and sendit RC, these are very popular servos.
*** SIDE NOTE*** I contacted NitroPro this morning and they responded very quickly... they're out of stock of CT1's and will be sending me a 550 instead which is essentially the same servo. I will be mailing out the servo today and just need to wait for it to get in their hands before they ship me a replacement. I provided the same video and pictures I posted earlier on this thread. |

At the track in my area, there were 4 drivers who all tried AGRrc branded servos at the same time, each of us had a 100% fail rate on every single AGFrc branded servo that was ran in a 1/8 platform. The average fail point was around 10-15 race days or roughly 50-75 packs on a large 1/8 track with hard pack dirt and large triples.
