Digital Servos from China
 

Given, I have tried the Evo P2 servos, and was impressed, I see now a huge influx of Chinese servos on eBay and Amazon. "20KG, 23KG, and 25KG" servos, all having random naming schemes. I mainly run Futaba and Protek. Now I am considerring trying some of these, for the giveaway builds I do. If they are of decent quality, I can easily afford these as a cheap alternative to giving away my dear used Futaba servos.

Sprung for a 25KG servo, will power it at 7.4v in an Brushless 1/8 buggy, and see how it does.

Anyone have any experience with these -( HD series from Amazon)

I have used the Power HD-1207TG servo in my 10th sedan and it worked perfectly. Same look, feel and performance as the Savox SG-1251MG servos I usually run and not too bad for the price.

I'm having decent luck with the JX servos, been running their brushless servos over the past year... the one in my buggy has been holding up, but after 10 months in my truggy, I finally stripped a gear in that one... I simply bought a cheaper cored servo for $15 and swapped out the stripped gear and it was a direct fit in the brushless servo.

I have had good luck with JX servos as well.

As what most things coming from unknown Chinese companies/Ebay stores, some things are complete failures while other stuff is incredible bang for buck.

Don't forget though that a few of the most well known brands in RC's servos are just rebranded servos from Chinese companies. I would personally trust JX, PowerHD and even some of the Hobbyking stuff such as Goteck. Best tip I can give when buying from one of the unknown brands is don't buy their cheapest version. Their mid-range stuff is usually still a huge amount cheaper than the big brands and most likely a lot better quality than their entry stuff.

I used the 20kg servo, red cased, on my bomber build. It held up to 2 runs and stripped out. I dont blame the servo, it worked well for how cheap it was.

The one I picked up was a nice metal case with brass gears, so in something smaller and lighter weight it should hold up and work well.

Got this Servo, time to try it in 1/8 ebuggy...

will run it with 6V.

I recently grabbed one of these and I believe it came with trackstar branding on it. Going to see how it does in a touring car.

Put the HD Power 23KG servo in my Tekno EB48
No issues, works great. Only thing to get used to, is the lack of Speed.

I m considering these servos for my nitro 1/8th buggy build. Are they good? Anyone has experience using them?

I've used the blubird low profile high torque servo in a touring car for two years now and it's still running strong. I have a new MKS and I don't even want to change it out since this one is still working so well.

I've had a bluebird ($60) high torque servo that I use in one of my touring cars. I bought it over two years ago, and it still works great, with no slop at all. Specs are the same as the $150 servos. With that said, I bought another one and it was DOA. So, if you get a good one you are golden, if not, you will have to get your money back.

JX servos are very decent for the price, however I would caution to only get the "Coreless" or "Brushless" versions of their servos, the generic servos tend to glitch and have poor signal response. I have also found that JX servo gears tend to last about a year before they start to get slop in the spline and eventually strip. It's very difficult to find replacement gear sets for JX making their products disposable. I have slowly made it a personal preference to only select a servo which has replacement gear sets available.

Another cheap servo that I've had luck with Solar, but they are over rated on SV, they really start to come alive on HV as seen here:


As far as budget brands go, which also offer replacement gear sets, I would highly recommend PowerHD, here is a rebranded PowerHD servo that I bench tested against Savox:


For my 1/8 cars, I have recently been migrating to SRT servos as my budget servos fail on me. I believe that SRT offers premium quality for about half the price.

Bought and installed this on my kit but never operated it yet. Still waiting for an RX which I am trying to find for my TX.
