I'd be happy just sticking to the list that was already provided. I personally want to run the BMW body again. But that would be up to my team.

Agree with you there Mike. Use the same body list as iirc, and let the teams figure out lighting.

So is there an official flyer? I'm interested in attending, but it seems as if there is nothing concrete. Let's set some rules and race.

I suggest any chassis.....spec tires, a set ratio, usgt approved body and a cheapo esc motor/esc combo like a speed passion or hobbywing where you cannot set timing.

Like this.

If you wanna abuse your $600 awesomamtix. Fine! Gotta old xray t3 laying around cool. Wanna blow the dust off that tc3. Even better. It's an endurance race. You break, you wrench or die! My .2

Official flyer and rules are in the works... A few final details need to be ironed out before writing and publishing the rules. Continue checking in for the latest updates, since many of the final decisions will be made this week.

The gearing you had in the car on Saturday was painfully slow. It needs a few teeth more. We really need to see how well those Ride tires hold up to a lengthy stint. If need be, I'll toss my reciever in the mule and pound out a couple hours straight this weekend

I thought that at first, but remember that the 24 layout will only have one long section on the straight, the infield will have more turns, and I think the speed will be good. Remember the motor has to run continuously for 24 hours, if it gets to 140 in 20 mins, it will be toast after a couple of hours. We ran almost 40 min and it was barely warm to the touch, but it was also a cool night, it might be 90 and humid in august.

I remember the cars being alot faster during the first running of the 24hrs. Only thing that hindered the lap times was the pogo-effect of the cars

cars were the same but the entire field picked up better part of a sec/lap. bigger difference was all motors having CS brushes in them and no use of the kit motor as per 2010 rules. -R

Well if what you ran on Saturday was slower than the Heures packaged-TT01. then that is truely painful. Perhaps more on par with tt01 and stock/close to stock gearing. or kit motor and speed gears.

sounds like the package isn't right.

really trying to change too many facets of it at once IMHO.

Top speed might be a little less, but lap times were comparable to years past. Between the cars being more planted and the slower speeds, I think the spread between first and last place might be considerably smaller. The TT01 package was about 1 lap slower than a well-tuned VTA car over a 6 minute run.

I was thinking the same thing. I might arrive on the early side Saturday, charge a few sticks, and run it for a few hours.

That may be a problem though, cars being too planted and slower speeds. Granted, anyone will be able to stay on pace, but strategy about runs per tire/battery will be thrown out the window. It will turn into a 1hr sprint instead of a 6min sprint
