Default Mini race on Sept 11, 2010

For the mini brawl race 2wd mini drivers.....

After consideration Ray K and I thought that if you were allowed to run any mini tire that you could save your very expensive tamiya tires for the TCS races that are held through out the year. So you may run any mini tire on your 2wd coopers. (Tom Browns idea)

We have 2 more weekends before the start of the 2010 Fall Point Series. Woohoo!! I'm anxiously waiting on the finalized rules for the 17.5 Spec TC class. I know Casey and Ray have been on the job hammering out the details. My plans are to race in the SS and the Spec TC classes this Fall. Speaking of Senior Spec; Where is our fearless leader Larry?

Hey John. Present and accounted!

I will be racing SS and plan to be in attendance for the first day of the Point Series. At this point, I'm not sure about racing other classes.

Right now, work is really hectic. I find that even my evenings and weekends are being consumed by thoughts revolving around work related projects.

Consequently, I haven't had much time to concentrate on RC. Senior Spec is the only class where I can race without having to do any real thinking. What a relief. No maintenance. Just pull the trigger and steer.

Default Fall Series Classes

After an aborted attempt at racing last Fall I'm looking forward to trying again. I've been looking out for the classes/rules. It looks like SS is a definite class. Is this the cheapest class to jump into? My RC budget has been absorbed by diapers, no pun intended. I'd like to start searching for used cars and need to know what to look for.

John you have picked two fun and competitive class ,both will be exclusive to the ""C"" !!!!!

Remember all ,if you pay for the series up front ,you get two race days free!!! When the last time you raced for free , Great idea is these soft economic times!!!

Hey Flyingpig, for the budget conscience, SS is a perfect choice. No need for expensive speed controls, high priced batteries or fancy radios. While it's not the fastest class, it IMO, has the closest racing, least frustration and most fun. You don't spend a lot of time maintaining the chassis, and most work can be accomplished using a Phillips screwdriver.

You can find used kits on ebay. New kits can be bought for very little. If you buy a used kit, try and stay away from kits that have been heavily upgraded. Those sellers want more money, and many of those parts can't be used in SS anyway.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Geppetto,

Thanks for the info. Low frustration sounds good. The used 1/12 I have is a lot of fun for playing but well beyond my skills for racing, for now.
Good tip on the used, upgraded cars. I probably would have made that mistake.
