Behold, the 1978 Mustang...

Did someone say Ford Maverick? LOL. I had a 1977 - painted solid black (imagine that) with a 1972 Grabber hood installed. It had a 302 in it and would scoot pretty good. These are pics of 72 w/Grabber hood and a close representation of my 77. Maybe not VTA worthy but fun none the less

My first car was a 75 Comet GT that came with a Grabber Maverick hood. It's since been retrofitted with the early small bumpers, valances and correct Comet GT hood. I don't have any current pictures, but this looks close, mine sits quite a bit lower. Same Magnum 500 wheels though.

Hey don't be picking on the II's. I love my 76 and I love the fact that people don't know what it is or the fact that Ford made Mustang's like that.

Comets were pretty rare and sweet ones even less common! Lots to be said for the smaller bumpers. Always disliked the BIG ones on my 77.

It's really not the body style as much as it is how they packaged them. My mom and Dad had a '73 Dodge Charger with a white vinyl roof and hub caps. My Dad wasn't really a car guy. That car could have been so cool! This photo below is almost identical except for the color of the roof. LOL

Gary,
I "know" (electronically) the guy who owns that Daytona. He hasn't washed it and says he doesn't plan to.

Indy, can you re-post the paint job you did on that orange body where you turned it into a Dodge Charger....I think it was? I just remember thinking it was the coolest ever!! Maybe it was the Duke's of Hazzard body (?)

Think it was this one ASM. Its a Challenger body, yes. Had to use that in order to be VTA legal. But, the General Lee idea still looks great! And, yes, it is historically accurate for those wishing to erase a great TV show.

That Daytona barn find was sold at the Mecum car auction in Florida in Jan and it rolled up on stage just like you see it in the picture
