Well... it did...

Funny thing was, he had it on sale at the track for like $65 forever. That's just $35 for the paint job.

Then a VTA noob bought it...

It was perfect too. I'll never understand that. Painted bumpers and window trim takes time for sure. You would have bought it if it was yellow, right?

When I have a brand new shell painted up, I always save it for a big race. Usually the southern nationals. For club races there are always beaters I can drive. I wish I had time to do more shells than I do but life comes at you sometimes.

My son and I have our "show bodies" and "GO bodies," so that we can keep a nice one for display at home. Eventually, the show body usually gets used on the track. He has got me making him a Metallica ZL-1 Camaro body (Protoform) now. That should be pretty cool.

Crispy, the J71 that I have in my workshop is spoken for. Can you get another one to me to paint? Maybe HT or Indy RC has one in stock? If so, I can get started on it very soon. I got just about caught up over the holiday break. Egg Nog and airbrushing last week... that was a good week!

Here is on I did and sold to a local guy. I sandblasted the hood and rear tailight section to make them flat black. The stripes are painted and so are the wheels. I ended up letting it go for barely above the cost of the parts and paint. Made nothing off of my time it took to do it. I know there are alot of guys out there who appriciate what it takes and pay a fair price, but there are alot more who are cheapskates. If it was that easy you wouldnt be asking someone else to paint for you.

On this one the flat black look took me masking the entire exterior after it was all painted, then you have to do decals. Its work, but it looks good and is def worth it.
