How do you guys prep and paint Vta wheels? What is needed to get it to stick good to the wheel so it don't flake off??

Seriously, has anyone ever tried that with the body shells? Will the lexan take the dye?

I used to color R/C airplane canopies with it to give them a yellow, orange, blue, red, whatever color tint. But, I don't know if those plastic canopies are just plastic typically, or specifically lexan.

I think the trick would be just dying the windows. You could try it with liquid mask. Might be a really nice effect.

The RIT dye works real well to change to color. Holds up nicely. I took these and sprayed gloss clear coat spray over them to shine them a little.

Look closely, the 12th scale car image its painted on the side of the VTA car. The painting is arranged so it looks like the VTA wheels and tires line up with where they should be on the image of the 12th scale car.

My first VTA body was a Pegasus Hobbies "Big Fish" Hemi Cuda and after racing that one for a week I swore I will never buy another Pegasus body again.

I never had a single complaint with the Pegasus 70 mustang. It actually looks tougher than the hpi 70. Plus it is actually a 69 and not a 70. Pretty cool body.

The '77/'78 trans am was the exact same body as the '70 that did race in trans am (both 2nd generation). The only difference is the nose cone and rear bumper. The body is also identical (with exception of the front and rear fascia) to the '70 camaro. There were 2 '70 trans ams that raced in trans am (is that redundant?), one the blue car posted earlier and the other a white trans am raced by Jerry Titus before he was killed in it during testing a riverside I think it was - he and the car were very quick but when he died, Pontiac's program in trans am died with him. They ran 303ci destroked short deck versions of the Pontiac 400 with ram air IV heads. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to allow it in VTA as the 2nd gen trans am and camaro did run in TA in 1970, where the other cars posted never did.
