Default Thanks Charlie!

Hey Charlie, thanks for doing up the TCS contender. I finished mounting the body last night and it looks dialed! Hopefully it'll be as fast as it looks Once again, thanks for hooking a brutha up.

rtypec,

Sorry, but I think you'll have a "teammate" at TCS I couldn't resist and asked CB to do a similar paint job on my F1 body

Sweet. I would love to see how that scheme translates onto an F1 car. Kinda like the way Jordan SHOULD have done their cars lol.

Also, it is very easy to see when it's dusk...so that may be advantageous since the days are getting shorter.

Default Faskoat Fastip

Hey gys,

I use FAskolor Exclusively and when you do glitters you use the faskoat. YOu can use it as a protective film on gas cars as well-though I dont see the need. But heres a quick tip for using the Faskoat in a new way that helps protect your paint job, but wont weight your body down.

Let your new body dry for a couple of days.

Using a soft bristle brush-you can paint Faskoat on areas that are high wear or get chipped easily. For me thats:

-in front of and around the front wheel wells.

-front bumper area and lights.

-body mount locations.

-where shock towers or transponder rub.

-back of rear wing.

I did it in three thin coats with a hair dryer. It took less than 5 minutes. And because I did it in small specific areas-I did not weigh the whole body down.

Default newbie to this forum

Hello guys I tried reading the forum but 119 pages was starting to make my eyes hurt. I have just a few questions for all the pro painters on the site, actually all painters cause all the paint jobs I seen was awesome and very well done.

1. what type of masks or tapes do you guys use?

2.what type of airbrush is best all around for lexan, or airbrushes?

3.how do you guys get such a good outline on some of the flames and some of the borders?

4.best all around air compressor?

5.how do you get the carbon fibre look and what colors do you use?

just getting into painting and loving it have painted maybe 8 bodies, will post some when get pictures taken. Hope to talk to some of guys later.

1.i use either Blue 3m tape or Artool hobby clear mask. 2. I'd say buy the one that fits your budget and what feels best in your hands. I like the Iwata Revolution. 3. just practice...after cutting out your flames, re-cut the flames with an outline about 1/16th inch for the original border. 4.go to walmart and get one that has a regulator to go at least 50 psi. 5.go to artool's website on how to do CF.

I hope this helps...
