First paintjobs need some tips

Hopefully no more of my friends get mp11’s..my least favorite body to paint so far. The 1/10 body I did before the light table. Tried to match with the 1/8. Did one less coat of liquid mask and it was a mistake. Had some bleed through and some of the smaller lines didn’t peel clean. Also the last two bodies I did the clear coat reacted with the spray paint I backed it with. Been using the same stuff and I actually let it cure longer than usual. Using rustoleum white to back and then Krylon clear. Been fine up until now so not sure what’s going on. The rc10 body I was trying to do a nighttime body for my friend. Not a fan of his color scheme as it has too much black in it so tried to do something different. Don’t really like how it turned out.

Redo of this one. Redrew it about 20x trying to find something that looked ok. Hard for me to do them when I don’t like the colors.
Definitely should have used more yellow and the black stencil was too much. Also smudged it a little..I did use transparent yellow first but I should have probably used the stencil only in the wide part.
Also realizing the chrome is best for small areas. Can see every line where I scuffed the body, looks more like brushed finish. Wishing I did some shading under the red also.
Originally I was going to fade the red but I tried thinning it and think I did too much. Haven’t had great luck fading pearl colors. Also used pearl white and the chrome makes it look more gray than it is.

Nice first bodies, they look great for early efforts. The .5 needle at 50-65psi is your main culprit for the fine line issue, that's a lot of air and paint moving at once. Try dropping to a .3 needle and around 25-30psi, you'll get way more control. For cutting masks, I do short overlapping sections on tight curves instead of trying to never lift the blade, and backlighting the body helps a ton for seeing where you've already cut. The sharpie method with cutting both sides is solid, maybe try a lighter color sharpie so the cut line stands out more. You're on the right track for sure.

Quick one that I took some inspiration from the one Cinabun posted on page 2..Not very happy with it. Might be too much yellow or maybe I shouldn't of faded the blue into white. Doesn't help the body is hideous. I also purposely did the blue line not all the same widths and that doesn't look right either. Shaded with pearl orange under the flo orange but you can't really see it..

Copy of a bittydesigns body for someone at the track. He already had it drawn out and was going to attempt it for his first time using liquid mask and paint it with cans. Probably wouldn’t have worked out too good. He drew the lines thick so I just cut to both sides. Came out ok all things considered. Stencil isn’t as crisp as I’d hoped. Pulled all the silver mask at once and I shouldn’t have. Was hard to shade around some spots without getting any overspray. Thought it would be too dark wrapping the silver around the back of cab but kinda looks weird with the white there.

Don’t know why but this scheme is the one I struggle with the most even though it’s pretty simple. Going to switch it up next time. Ran the orange fade down too far and I overdid the pearl green shading under the Flo green. Last time you couldn’t see it so I did an extra pass. Was low on Flo green so didn’t do as many coats as normal.
