In the last ROAR Nationals, people of the 1/10 scale were running stock (MVP) with final gear ratios of 4.6 and in the 1/12 modified I have seen people with final ratio of 3.3 with 10x4 motors.
Now I am confused. Is this because of the weight's difference, tire diameter's difference, the track or what?

So if any one can help with this would be great.

Well, we had three heats of Pan Cars again at SoCal tonight. I just like being able to say we had three heats and it wasn’t even our best turnout . Even better is that two of those heats were of our Intermediate class which shows how many new people we’ve gotten into racing these cars. I wish the future of the 1/10th GTP scene was on a National level as bright as it for us at SoCal.

Whoa...three heats! That's great. I'm counting the day's when I'll be back racing at SoCal.

So much for the ROAR Carpet Nationals: http://www.riponspeedway.com/images/2002roarcarpet.pdf .
Guess they don’t want our money. I mean, how many sedan racers do they really think are going to pay $80 to race when there is a very limited West Coast Carpet Sedan scene?

We just have to wait to see how many show up. they going to have to get around 195 Different TC divers to make it a full field.
I do not see them getting 55 1/12th where most of the guys how run 1/12th are not going because thy did not want to run Stockton because how the guys run the racer really do suck on how the handle things.

No 10th GTP!!! That's messed up!!! And $80 for a stock sedan, hmmm...that better include a motor and a set of tires.

Hey, I think we should all e-mail Scott at Ripon and ask why there is no 10th GTP class!!!!

I took all the racers at their track and put them down to what class they fell in to and if they race one or more class in TC then I but them in the highest class. Like if they run stock and mod I put them in mod. So here the break down.
Novice they had: 31
Sportsmen Stock TC: They have: 52
Expert Stock TC they had: 35
Mod TC they had: 59
1/12th Stock they had: 2
1/12th Mod they had: 21
So this would give them 189 if ever on that show up to race the Nat’s 146 TC and 23 1/12th so that will be 189 total drivers.
Now you add the big name drivers like.
BARRY BAKER, CHRIS TOSOLINI, BILLY EASTON, MIKE DUMAS, MARK PAVIDIS, MIKE BLACKSTOCK, DAVID JUN, TAKUYA ITO, PAUL LEMIEUX, PAUL WYNN, JON ORR, MIKE SWAUGER, JOSH CYRUL, MIKE MCMAHON, TODD HODGE, BRIAN KINWALD, and MATT FRANCIS
So you add 17 in Mod TC and 8 in Mod 1/12th that bring it up too 214 that if everyone that racers at the track show up. But you figure that you not going to get all of them to show up so they will have to find 36 to 100 diver else where to fill the field.
So if they fell short of filling the field then they should have but in a Pro 10 Class. I would have run Pro 10 and 1/12th Mod. So that would have been 2. There are more that would have show up for just the Pro 10 class. I could 6 from this area for Pro 10 and they would have race a class each other then Pro 10. That could have been 12 to 18 more racers from this area that would have race if they had a Pro 10 Class.

That’s exactly one of the points many of us who E-mailed Scott previously tried to make. After a while though, talking about running a 1/10th GTP class was like talking to a brick wall. All he kept doing was E-mailing us back with BS excuses why he didn’t want to run it – “the track’s too small, etc.,etc.,etc…..”
FWIW, Speedworld had 246 entries, 4 short of totally full for the much more prestigious regular ROAR OnRoad Nationals. Scott must not be much a businessman....
