I think, I'll wait till the new REDS .12 engine will come out in mid september.
They will be Picco based, and so I think they will be torquey..

To be honest, unless you're racing at a fairly high level where the engine you decide to get makes or breaks you, any engine will do just fine.
From what I know about the Sirio XXX, it lacks on the bottom end and really shines like a light on a straight section of track (I used one and was blown away when it hit the top RPM range) I'm sure they would have solved this issue with newer versions including the Nemesis (not sure on this) but from the engines you stated I would pick:
1. RB T11 (RC has more top end power, not entirely sure on the bottom end)
2. Novarossi Flash .12
3. Max XXL3

But the Picco Torque engines definitely have plenty of power on the bottom end, the Evo 3 when I had one was an absolute ripper.

As with most Europian .12 engines it is set to 16% nitro.

Hi!
Thank you for your reply.
You mean the RB T11 (normal), not the T11RS or RC? Right?

Yes, I know that, but like I mentioned before...I don't want to race engine like all others have on our race track.

Are the Xceed ZX12 EM the same engines as the Torque Engines from Picco?
What do you think about?

I can't remember which engine they are based from, but I think they might be Picco or Sirio based. I've only heard a little bit of information on the Xceed engines, but I did hear they are pretty good - they don't have a fanbase like Novarossi or RB, but in the right hands it can perform very well.

With the RB Touring series, on a small track you would be better getting the T10 or T11, or even a TJ## if it's a very small track, but the T10/T11 are essentially the same engines anyway, just a different head. They have the same crank and sleeve which means identical timings, so theoretically they should perform the same as each other, unless the cases are different and the crank timing has been changed, but I think they are the same.
I hope I didn't confuse you with any of this

Roelof 08-26-2011 04:47 AM

Xceed is now what Mega was. It is based on the Picco with the same model name. The DS4 is the same as the EVO4. I do not think there is already a Torque model with all other brands but I expect Xceed will name it DS5

Oh no! :)
I came back from lunch and I decided to take the PT flash! But now I'm reading your thread and became confused
Would you rather take the RB T11 as the Flash PT?

yes, the xceed ZX12 DS4 are also available as EM Edition ( Edo Modified ), so I think they are also Picco based.

hmmm, difficult to decide now...

wingracer 08-27-2011 05:51 AM

Yes, Xceed is Picco based. The Flash is excellent, you will be just fine with it.

tonyhalandri 08-27-2011 07:40 AM

Allthough I am 1/8 fun I have seen the T11 perform and I got crazy it is a lot faster then the T10 for sure...

Hi

Are you talking about the RB T11 Touring or the RS/RC Version?

What is the RB T11 Touring based? I know it is Nova based, but which type?

I was refering to the T11RS... I don't know if it is nova based but you will not go wrong with this one..

DJ_Shakespear 08-29-2011 02:06 AM

It would really depend on where you want to race.
With either engine you can race pretty much on any track, but the Nova PT Tuned will definitely be better than the RB Touring 11 (standard) The T11RC/RS might be on the same level as the PT Tuned, but I'm not sure.

Im sure that RB is still having all of their engines made in the same place as Novarossi, only all of their heads, piston/sleeve/rod sets and cranks are made to RB specifications, not Novarossi. With either engine, you will still be happy with the performance no matter what.
Comparing the T11 and Flash PT, if they were the same price I would definitely go with the PT Tuned.

Has somebody detailed photos from the RB T11 RS. I would like to see the crankshaft and piston.

Many thanks.

DS Motorsport 01-11-2012 06:11 AM

Does anyone know which Novarossi conrod fits the RB C10 engine?.
I got a 07009 conrod but that one doesn't fit.
Thanks

Roelof 01-11-2012 07:56 AM

None, the crankpin of the RB is a tiny bit larger, I believe 5.0 or 5.02mm while the NR is 4.98

You can try to make the hole of a R7 rod larger with a 5mm diamond bit, I have done it once and did work fine:

DS Motorsport 01-11-2012 08:30 AM

Hmm, that sucks as RB conrods are ridiculously priced, €65 for a conrod:weird:

Might look into making the R7 rod fit, it also looks like a much nicer conrod.
Thanks for the answer and suggestion Roelof.

Does anyone know another choice for exhaust pipe and header for rb t9 Murnan modified seems that most hobby shop are out of the 2668 rb exhaust .I was told that the reds exhaust pipe and header would work 2669. Please can I get some feedback thanks.

The novarossi 2660 with 41016 header works very well.

Hipex 2669evo2 or reds 2669. For the manifold go for a C+ if you have a normal track or buy a M+ if you race on short tracks. ;)

Fellas quick question, for you motor gurus, Can I run 20% thru my RB T11 rc in stock form? Or do i have to add a shim to the head? im in the bay Area 70-100 degrees....If I do run 20% what are signs that would say add a shim!!

I guess that question was to hard!

Here's another, is it possible to add a shim to the head to gain runtime?

I run the same engine. Byrons 20% 12% oil. It runs great. Never any detonation. I would add more fuel line or a Kyosho fuel filter to increase run time...;)

it will help a bit with run time and rpm,but will reduce some torque,i use the clutch setting to gain back the torque.

Add .10mm of shims. This will allow you to get the most out of the engine on 20%.

You dont have to add the shim, but it will allow you to lean the engine more. It is also easier on glowplugs to add the shim.

hay guys just wonting to know is the tXr really worth the extra $100 or is the TX good enough as iam looking to buy 2 engines at once. i see amain have them in the combo but to buy the txr in the combo it means the pipe is like $80 more.

so realy i would like to know if i would regret buying the tx cause the txr is that much better? i currently run a nova keep on so wich ever is the closest to that

Txr is a much better engine than the tx one ...it is worth the money difference

Anyone know where I could get a piston and sleeve for a v12 rody? I believe the part number is 1700-0036r?

I searched the part# you posted and nothing came up. Do you have a different # by any chance?

Cspencer225 11-06-2013 05:33 PM

I got that off rb manuals they have online. I don't really know the exact motor I have as I got it used. Is there any way to tell? There is a number I graves on the side of the motor mount

Cspencer225 11-06-2013 05:41 PM

Sorry number is 37r not 36r

Not sure which one u have but Murnan has the R3 p/s set in stock. V12 Rody is one of the R3 engines.

Here is his link for that P/S. Call him he will set you straight.

Send it to RayA this guy is incredible with repairs and such.

Had a buddy butcher his piston changing the wrist pin and Ray fixed it I was shocked.
What do you have to loose except the price of shipping.

Here is his direct link and his rctech thread, check out how everyone is so happy with his work:nod:
