ow...sorry......
not only the rex rer12s3 but also the novarossi NS series.....rc concepts...... as I said before.......running 16% nitro JP engines are nothing but crap...... don't know about running 30% nitro....because the engine won some important races in USA, but here in Brazil, specially at the world championship, I saw every motor regardless of brand simply kigking every JP asses..... lot of brazilian drivers that started the championship running JPs has switched to other brand........ not even jean paul calandreau was able to make his engines at least competitive........ |
I have an rr12l3 and it is really strong so far. Its a long stroke engine and on 30% nitro with no restrictor it accelerates like a bat out a hell!!! Love it so far and spring time hope it will be great at parking lot type racing. Do you know any info about this engine?? Seems like I am the only one running this engine on this forum...
|
well......here in brazil we're still running the nova ns series and the rex (same as nova ns series)........
but at the world there was not only one rr12l3........everybody has chosen NS series or similar.....Sirio, RB and Picco......also JP, Max, but they're all nova ns based (except for the suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper high exhaust port of the JP sleeve, which I think is the big problem of this engine, all engines with regular exhaust port height are great)........... |
I guess many racers want more speed for longer tracks. I only use this engine for short technical parking lot tracks. Great acceleration, torque and no need for high speed. For a real track
I will probably get the Collari LC12. The rr12l3 can still rev high as the ns12s3. I think NovaRossi is only pushing for short tracks even though it seems its just as powerfull as the ns series. Also I seem to be getting great runtmes so far. My tuning maybe off though. Cant wait for springtime. Just got freezing rain and a pile of snow here in Toronto,Canada!!! |
I have NS15S5 engine, and I would like to know if it possible to overhaul the engine with NS12S5 or NS12S3 sleeve, conrod, and piston.
I buy NS15S5 because the design and power are almost identical to JP FX. |
That all depends if your NS15 is a small block or not
If it is a "small block" meaning the crankcase is the same size as a .12 crankcase then you can fit the NS12 3/5port internals. |

My friend has one and has compared them and he told me they are same in size (thats how they fit in 1:10 tourers) so i assume the internals would fit.

Originally posted by TRAJ i mean its the same size so it will fit the NS12 internals asw7576 will be taking a big risk and waste of money if he buys NSR12 piston sleeve and puts it in his NS15 ! The conrod is the same though along with other parts I've listed above. |

The small block .15 engine crankcase are made very similar in size to the .12 crankcase engines and that is why they will fit in 200 mm TC. Same dimension crankcase does not mean same internals... |
im not here to pick a fight with you :)
Thats just what my friend has told me, he also told me they are the same size inside and out I prefer to stay legal with my motors  |

I havnt done it so i cant speak
thanks D |
Wow !! initialD thanks a lot for your concern man !! I appreciated it, and you too Traj ;) :p ;) :D
I asked that question because NS15S5 manual book doesn't mention anything about NS15S5 and even NS12S3/S5. The manual book is not up to date  But I find only these info, NS15S5 : Crankshaft Diameter = 11.50 mm SG Bore x Stroke = 14,90 mm x 14,25 mm Carburator = 5.4 mm Glow Plug = Turbo NS12S3/S5 : Crankshaft Diameter = 11.50 mm SG Bore x Stroke = 13,80 mm x 14,04 mm Carburator = 5.4 mm Glow Plug = Turbo What I meant is this ( best case scenario ) : I don't mind my NS15 will become NS12 after engine overhaul. I have cool looking NS12 with big heatsink :D or worst scenario : the sleeve, piston, and conrod are actually the same except the crankshaft ( different bore and stroke ). However, I'm not sure about that because the cc is determined by the area of piston's surface, ie. larger diameter for sleeve, piston, and crankcase !! :flaming: :flaming: |
