Any facts on Max Power will be the new Novarossi and Wallace will be the USA distributor ?

Need more information. Where does this leave Drew Ellis as the Max Power distributor?

post Corrected, apologies. Drew Ellis is still Dist as per what I heard

Does anyone have an opinion on what is the fastest Novarossi engine? I知 interested in a car for speed runs and curious what engine you guys would pick. I no options are getting slim for engines but there are still some Good deals out there. This would be just for fun in parking lots and on the street. Not sure what platform I would put the engine in either. Right now all I have are off-road vehicles. So any suggestions for a fast Novarossi engine would be appreciated. Thanks

they are all fast but more variables would be better to help you (scale etc) for
speed runs the biggest issue will be long enough gearing. I致e got both Mephisto.12 and .21 and they are both excellent

Yeah I was thinking about the Mephisto, Ison GT 5 port or I saw a good deal on a flash. I値l need to do a little more research beyond buy one. Has anyone on here built a car strictly for speed?

me ! But I realized that you are limited to Gearing not power. Had a drag modded is.18tz in an xray nt1... it had a slower top speed than my .12s I ran but maxed out in speed quickly.
also I知 sure I can hit 70mph with my Mephisto in my gt car if I had long enough gearing

Mito .12 WCs- Nova clutch engagement

Been running a used Mito .12 WCs with a Nova clutch to 2-speed gear on a Capricorn C03. Engine is in great shape.

However, the clutch will only engage after revving to very high RPMs. I don't have a tachometer, but the rpm seems excessively high before it engages (at least, compared to what I remember from my off-road single gear days). Once it engages, it takes off pretty fast, and there is no running slow at all- just medium fast to really fast. Can't hear the gear change.

I'm running the centrifugal shoes in the "aggressive" arrangement (as described in a youtube video), where the shoe "leads" the pin as it rotates, no set screws in the shoes (will try to post pic). Gap, endplay, and spring preload are set per Capricorn manual:

- spring preload = 0.6 mm
- clutch bell gap = 0.5 mm
- endplay gap = 0.1
- black spring is straight, in good shape, 9.45 mm long uncompressed

Haven't gotten a chance to turn the shoes around so they're "following" the pin, or installed the set screws.

Thanks for any help!

Think your clutch settings are too aggressive. I would reverse shoes so same as standard in manual (see photo). Our track is low/medium grip and I run mine 0.4mm on spring, 0.4mm gap and 0.1mm end play.

I believe the black spring is 9.8 out the package. If its 9.45 now i would consider it trashed.
Put in a new spring, flip the shoes, spring preload .4 or .5mm, gap at .5mm, end play 0.1mm.
That should be a good starting point and feel good.

You should also post this in the capricorn thread. You'll get more help there.

Ok thanks Bundy_Bear and nitrobeast- will try those changes!

hello my name is sergi, i am from barcelona i have a serpent srx8gt that i just assembled the kit, i have bought a new nova mephisto gt5 / h, i want to use 25% nitro, that's why i bought the optional 28025 cylinder head for 25% nitro but using I don't know if I have to put the two 0.30mm and 0.10mm washers that come with the stock cylinder head. (16% nitro)

Use the same head shims for both Head buttons. You may compensate for conditions by removing the 0.10mm shim depending on track size and weather. If you notice a large amount of carbon buildup on the piston and head button after about 2 liters of fuel, it may be time to remove the 0.10mm shim. This is a symptom of poor combustion due to lack of compression.
