Thanks for the help! I got it running today and it sounds fairly healthy, unfortunately the old receiver pack just doesn't have it in it anymore to work long enough for me to trust to driving.

It's definitely a Turbo Plug engine, didn't check if it was 7 ports like you said, didn't really feel like pulling the head.

The base settings 3-1/2 out on the high and 5 on the low and mid flush with the case worked well for first startup.

Short vid of it running

Hello All.

I have a Novarossi 35plus21 and a Mito 35WC. I would like to buy a spare conrod for each while they are still available. According to the manual, the Mito has an R4 (07006-17) and the 35Plus21 has an R7 (07010).
For the R7, there are so many options that I am confused. I have seen R7s for sale, both from Novarossi and Max Power, with many different part numbers, namely: 07001, 07009 , 07999. Are they all the same?
The R4, Both from NovaRossi and Max Power, is always part number 07006.
On top of that, The Novarossi Marine USA site sells the R7 as:

"07009 - .21 KEEP M, KEEP outboard, T21-5M, T21-7M and 35PLUS (same rod as 07006)"

Should I assume these rods, R4 and R7 are all but the same and interchangeable?

Thanks in advance

The R stands for the used dimensions so all R rods will fit, the number is the shape design.

The R7 has more material and the R4 a little bit less so it is called as a light rod. But then I have seen R7 rods with the shape of the R4.

Novarossi CT8 plug alternative

Since I was able to get my hands on 2 Novarossi Mephisto engines I was wondering which plugs would work best with this engine. According to the manual it’s set for 16% Nitro and CT8 plug is recommended. Finding CT8 plugs are very difficult, so does anyone have any other recommendations? I do have several Reds 7 plugs but not sure if those would work.

I would take OS plugs instead of Novarossi --> RP6 is fine

The data sheet with the engine indicates the engine should be using a NovaRossi #8 plug through all the temperature ranges. I have many, but have not run the Mephisto engine for a long time. I even have a new in box engine and the 25% heads for it.

Mistery Max power Conrod - help needed

Hello everyone.

I ordered a replacement conrod for Novarossi from an italian store (with which I never had business before), namely a Max Power MX 07006-17. The shopkeeper sent me an e-mail saying the 07006 was too weak, and advising to get the the MX 07999 instead, which he said would provide a service life of, at least, 10 litres (!!!). I replied I would take the 07999 then, and received the conrod shown in the pictures. The label is blank, it has "4.8 - 182592" engraved on it. Can anyone identify this conrod? Is it really a 07999? And, is it true than it can last as long as he claims?

Thanks in advance,
Luis Oliveira

Max power Conrod Extra Strong Biella for Novarossi | Fvssshop.it

Oliveirax 06-12-2023 10:06 AM

I didn't order it from that shop. And that doesn't answer my question. I am trying to find out if I got swindled here or not.

Roelof 06-12-2023 02:35 PM

It says the same part number.
