Just wonering what the difference is between following engines
12-3c 12-3ct 12-3sct Bit confused guessing t is for tuned? |
the C is for Ceramic Bearing
and im not sure and dont quote me on this but i think the S is for Silicon filling in the crank and T is for some work on the liner. a Tuned version has work done to the crank. |

12-3c 12-3ct 12-3sct Bit confused guessing t is for tuned? The Plus 12-3ct has the ceramic bearing and uses a turbo plug The Plus 12-3sct has the ceramic bearing, turbo plug and uses an 11.9mm crankshaft (the c and ct version use and 11.5mm crankshaft) |
the 3C has a turbo plug have a look at the website

I knew I had answered this question before,. Just didnt remember, i made a search back on the thread and found this:
The "S" is there to distinguish between the 11.9mm and the 11.5 mm crank The "C" is there to distinguish between Steel Rear Bearing and Ceramic Rear Bearing The "T" is there to distinguish how worked up the crankshaft is. See these pictures: "T" http://www.novarossi.com/img/img_pro...x300/85607.jpg "Non T" http://www.novarossi.com/img/img_pro...x300/85606.jpg Hope this helps. This is what I know, someone please correct me if im wrong. |
Ok thanks guys...
Another question 12-3 series motor vs a 353 series Pro/Cons differences? Thanks |
well the most obvious difference is that the 12-3s have low to mid power, while the 353 has mid to top power delivery. there is also a difference in the conrod and crank pin. my suggestion is to get a 353 unless the track that you are racing has little straights
|
they are basically the same engine, 353 has 500 more rpm, but a 3sct can be as fast or even faster that a 353, get what u like, what u can get the parts for real quick, look at what will last longer, dunno about the new 353 but the old 1 use to wear a bit on the crank pin
