Yes, I ran one last two seasons. The bigger gear combo and an RD Logics Turbo II pipe made this engine a strong performer in the infield. The straight away performance is good for medium sized tracks, but you won't maintain pace with the high performance engines. The engine was very reliable and didn't require a lot of tuning time.

Default STS12X3

we will be adding more videos of our engines soon!!

STS12X3 and G4Rs 2009

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Notice that our engine was running very rich, we will have more videos of the engine tuned leaner for even faster speeds.

Default Test almost done

Well, i have to say the engine will be a great contender crazy bottomend power, also found the motor works it best with the Sirio 2611 pipe and header.1 note your clutch must be on point .Also running 16% nitro. Will keep you updated.

Default S12X3

Hi

Its been awhile since i have used a STS engine... What is the go with the new STS S12X3? What glow plugs do they use and are they still super tight like the old STS D3R to run in?

Thanks in advance
Andrew

Default S12X3

Andrew, not sure yet I just ordered one to try out after my OS Speed 12tz blew the rear bearings on it.

So had to use my spare D5 (not the D5R) i had from 7 years ago, I can say that from the quick tune it was good in race conditions on our small track. I did manage to get fastest lap in a heat and very comparable with lap times to the 12tz. It also managed to get runtime of over 6 minutes which I couldn't get on the 12tz.

So I'm hoping that the S12X3 has more power bottom to top, to keep up with the TZ SpecII's.
On the D5 i used an OS P7, but it has keeps leaking at temperature, so switched to a Odonnel 97T. I think I'll give that a go on the S12X3.

Not sure when I can break it in and if I'll be able to race it before sometime in October to give you some feedback.

Depending on the price I would just get it to try out.

Anyone else able to provide feedback on the power of the S12X3 compared to an OS and what runtime they are getting?

Hi Randy,
Which pipe would be good from max power or nova rossi for a tight small track with one long straight? It would also need to make 6 minute heats without pitting.

You wouldn't have photos of the sleeve you modifiied, would be interesting to see.

I've got mine and cleaned her up and sealed her up again, waiting to break her in. I'll use the S12 for the summer series comming in a few months.

Thanks
Jason.

I don't think the L12X3 is newer than the S12X3. Product no is 1205 for L12 and the S12's are 1211 and 1212.

The internals look similar to the D12X when you compare product no's on the parts list, i just couldn't match the p/s set the crank is the same.

I have seen it cheaper in some stores and a little more expensive in other's when compared to the S12.
thanks
Jason.
