CRACK-HEAD

Well it finally happened, I have a broken sts 30... Ive been lucky so far, this is my fourth sts 30 that I was keeping as a spare.. I took sometime to break it in (been sitting in a box for a while now) and could not get it tuned right, switched carbs on it and everything. Even with a novarossi carb on the motor it still ran like poop, stripped it down and found the answer. A slight crack in the block in the upper left hand corner of were the motors back plate screws into.

So i guess the question is "will dino replace this block or am I out of luck since Racer9 stopped carrying these motors."

hi there, is changing to novarossi carb really make sts engine better? cause i got a .12 touring engine.... always got tuning problem....suspect is the carb problem...as the internal of the engine is fine and this engine is only 2L old. so also got think of changing to novarossi carb as it fit sts engine! So would like to know if it does makes any changes before i buy a new carb! lolx! Thanks!

Yes the NR carbs help alot, the sts carbs are very inconsistent in build quality. Also if you want to teflon the LSN of the sts carb, that in its self is a big help.

Hi guys,

From what i know, STS is a Novarossi Base engine. Where Novarossi engine is a high rev engine, which mean STS engine is also high rev engine??? But i read some thread it say that STS have a lot of torque! So i thinking of which gearing to use? lolxxxx!

bro, u gotta try then u'll know what gearing is best...
use yr good hearing!

use a gearing that yr engine peaking at the end of the straights.
