Default Hey Brad

Thanks Brad, cant wait to get my .21 up and running. Going to the GLC with it. I should be getting some good info with it there. Keep in touch and make sure you bring me one of your sway bar tools, forgot to tell you that, just let me know what you want for them. Good to see you at the Byron race. Kurt

round 8 racing saw an IDM EVO3 come home in 1st place yesterday.
i have tried the engine with the IDM pipe and manifold and the Nova 2601 with 6 fin manifold. id have to say the IDM pipe is the best option. it really brings out the mid and top end, very noticable over the 2601 pipe.

If you are running a Nova pipe you need to be running the 2630 pipe with a short or medium at the most for length of manifold. The 2601 will not make much of a change.

Which IDM pipe did you run and how was the track? long straights, multiple second gear short straights, mostly 180's or sweeping turns? the 2607 or the 2617?

Actually this brings up another question, what gearing are you guys using? my local track has about a 200' straight with multiple first gear short sections and almost all 180 degree turns.

that would be the 2607 pipe. the track is a high speed trackbut with some on off infield bursts. the pipe and engine combo perform well on our track. only 2 parts of the trck we tend to hit 2nd , back and front straight.

There are some differences in the pipes. You need to look at the 2607 as a more linear power pipe. The power will come on smoother and more progressive. The 2617 pipe will basically run up fast. The power band is moved to a smaller window you would say for a lack of words. The power with the 2617 pipe comes on fast and harder. Smaller time frame to get onto the "pipe" Sharper ,more quick accel. They both will let the engine run up to the top just how fast the elevator will get you there. Hope that clears it up a bit. Also it is very hard to tell a driver what they sahould use. You drive a specific way and what feels good to you when the car works may not to others. Unless it is a noticable difference both pipes would work. Just what feels good to you is what matters.
