Well, I guess it didn't come tuned properly from the factory because I could not get the darn thing to start without messing with low speed needle. Turned it clockwise 1/4 turn and it idled while igniter was on plug, then dies upon taking it off. It's really, really rich from the factory. Still haven't been able to run it due to all the problems with breakin

they do come set very very rich, my last break-in i leaned the hsn 3 hours and raised the idle a lot to get it to stay running.

Just lean it out until it stays running. The idea that you have to run pig rich during break in is a fallacy. The two biggest factors are get it hot (over 200F) and keep the rpm down the first few tanks. Most break-in procedures are just different variants on those two main ideas.

Dont let the break in process stress you out.

See these on sale right now direct from Novarossi, new guy here. Would this be a great first engine to go with in a buggy and possibly a truggy?

That pipe they are including for free, heard it's not too good? that so?

Post 87 kinda worries me a little. But for $139 plus a pipe...Guess if you get a bum one you can send it back? That"s a quiet pipe too, but maybe lacking in run times.

The Paloma is a great truck engine. Don't let the low price fool you. Runs great, tunes up easy and hold a tune really well.

Can't go wrong!

Post 87 doesn't give enough info to take seriously. Pics or it didn't happen. I have two Palomas that run great. An Elite 5 that runs great and a P5XLT/16 that runs great. All from Novarossi direct.

The Paloma is a extra long stroke, not the same as the 5 ports you listed. I do believe the extra long stroke has cut outs at the bottom of the sleeve to clear the conrod, if that is done wrong it could happen.

I think a elite 5 would be a good start paired with a 9901 pipe and 21 header, and Adam drakes break in service is so worth it, your gonna spend nearly the same amount on a gallon of fuel breaking it in. Save the headache and send it to him.

I have 3 of these motors. All have been flawless. I love the Paloma engine. Great mill for sure. My first paloma is still going strong at 10 gallons. GOing to replace it this year but for the price you cannot go wrong.

Nice! That's a good amount of gallons you got out of her, did you rebuild or replace anything during those 10 gallons? Mine is on about 2...
