The worst way to flame out

I am not sure if anyone has had this happen before but I wanted to share what happened Saturday while I was warming up before the start of the 2nd qualifier. I was just starting to go down the straight when another buggy hit a double wrong hitting my cooling head and cracked my crank case in 2. It was a brand new motor with only 1 race on it.

Dam !!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

J.Whiting 12-11-2011 08:00 PM

um... ouch.... yes that has to suck.. it seems that lapped traffic or other drivers cause 90% of you broken parts!! always hard to swallow when it was not your fault.. jeremy

Joey Powell 12-11-2011 08:03 PM

Pinch it. You'll be alright.

stallen50 12-11-2011 08:18 PM

wow. i would find someone with os v-spec case and put your arrow internals in. as i think they are the same. maybe arrow would give you a new case if you showed them the pic

NitroXray80809 12-11-2011 08:19 PM

Going off knowledge, the arrow is a o.s. v-spec clone. Old o.s. cases were very weak, now a hard hit can do damage but wow. That is somthin thats the i would charge the cause of it for a new engine.

BS-Racing 12-11-2011 08:24 PM

Dang!! Sorry about your engine man! At least now you'll have a neat paper weight.

bigjayjay1 12-11-2011 08:30 PM

I would JB weld the block:batman:

That is a good idea. I am not sure if anything else is damaged besides the cooling head, which is bent up on the top fin from the impact. It still has good pinch and maybe more now than before when I try and turn it over.

Did the person who hit you take any responsibility ? Or are just eating the cost of the engine on your own ?

It was actually the track owner who hit me and he was very apologetic and helped me a lot to get everything replaced in time for next qual. I had to get my back up motor on, replace a bent servo horn, and broken throttle linkage. No offer to pay for anything but I didn't expect him to. It is just one of those freak accidents where everything hit in the right spot for catastrophe. It is a part of racing.

Muggydude 12-11-2011 09:30 PM

That sucks man- but that is a pretty spectacular break! Haha sorry

At least it wasn't an uber expensive engine, and the pipe and clutch (maybe not the bell) should still be ok.

R/C Lidz 12-12-2011 03:21 AM

ouch, sorry bro- that stinks

right click, save as...

rageworks 12-12-2011 03:49 AM

Get a Mugen JX-B01 block. It will be much stronger than the Arrow
or v-spec crankcases and all of your Arrow parts will work in it.

abqNitro 12-12-2011 04:42 AM

Sorry for ya man, that just sucks!
